Very comfortable & a lovely calm environment with good breakfast. Slightly out of town so taxi required with luggage but 15 mins walkable if fit up a steep hill.

Everything about this property is lovely, the rooms, the grounds, the ownership and staff. The property has a beautiful view. We had a wonderful breakfast each morning and everyone was very accommodating. Our room was spacious and very clean. The owner was friendly and helpful with every question and request. We came by train and didn't need a car, the walk into town is about five minutes and the owner will call a taxi if needed. There is parking if you do have a car. We took a tour of some of the wineries of the Douro Valley through a separate company and it was the best day of our trip. Regua is lovely and we can't wait to return!

It was a beautiful house, very interesting and well cared for. Breakfast was very tasty and well presented. The immediate property is nicely landscaped and has beautiful views. Access to the rest of the town is very difficult. They sit on a hill which is steep and busy. You have to use taxis to at least come back from dinner or lunch and some are overcharging.

Excellent stay in family home overlooking river

We had an incredible stay here, highly recommend. Family home, staff are attentive and responsive and very helpful. Unbelievable views from the balcony overlooking the Douro river and the valley. Rooms are spacious and clean, bathroom was giant and parking behind a gated fence so very secure and safe. Great breakfast that comes included and nice lounge area to relax in over a glass of their welcome port. Overall, we loved our time and would absolutely be back.

Despite a no-pet policy, the guest house is crawling with cats, on chairs, in window sills, 3 in the dining room at breakfast. My husband has a severe cat allergy and did not sleep during our 2 night stay. Like all clever cats, they sensed his allergies, and even jumped onto his seat and curled up under our table when he served himself coffee at breakfast—the cats could not be avoided. This absolutely needs to be made clear on the listing. Otherwise, a nice property with welcoming owners. If you love cats, it’s the place for you!
