Inside the main reception is beautiful, with the full workings of an old water mill on display and underground water viewable from glass floor panels.
We stayed on the cheap side which is the newer addition to the original building, but in a dated room that could certainly use a revamp but was more than adequate for our stay. The bed though was the hardest mattress ive ever stayed on, and the two choices of pillows were not to my comfort either, one being massively bulky in height and firm, the other being softer but filling was lumpy. I didn't mention to staff who im sure would have found me an alternative pillow or a softer bed topper for our 2 night stay, but they definitely need new pillows.
