Friendly welcome and check in, clean bright room. Good selection of teas/coffee, also toiletries. Great garden! But the bed was very springy so not a great nights sleep

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Amenities
We had a room inside the pub, plenty of tea/ coffee etc.bathroom ceiling etc was full of mould - nasty.
We didnt know that food stopped serving at 8pm so we had to trek into town to the Weatherspoons.
Room was clean, very loud fridge , kettle needs to be cordless as its a pain.
Very noisy as had to have window open due to heat , but noisy from the road.
Pros:
The huts/pods were really quaint and set back from the pub. In total there were 4 huts sufficiently spaced to allow for privacy. Beautifully made. Inside there is a double bed with side tables. In the corner a TV along with tea and coffee amenities. At the back an en-suite bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. The accommodation was very clean. All very positive so far.
Cons:
Two important things were failing which lead me to only give 3 stars.
1) Unfortunately the Pirate Inn WiFi didn't extend to the huts which in this day and age is vital.
2) The mattresses were TERRIBLE. Springs sticking in you at night does not make for a relaxing stay.
Such a disappointment as the huts were made and laid out beautifully but then furnished with cheap and nasty mattresses. It seemed like they were second hand or bought from a car boot sale. Apparently these huts were only opened in April this year so no excuse.
Easy and comfortable stay. Clean and simple interior. Spacious parking lot. Food service times at the pub were a bit limited, but lots of locations in town.
Was a great place to stay. Was a little noisy at night but you are staying over an active pub. Deal with it or don't book it. Easy check in, convient to have an extra beer, great food, not to far from town. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Nice pub with friendly and helpful staff. Room a bit tired but sufficient for a couple of nights. Could do with a breakfast option as dinner was very good.
Well situated for our trip to the Minack Theatre only a short drive away.
Would return.
Stayed in "pods" located adjacent to garden/car park. Pods were spacious enough with fridge, tea/coffee, TV and bathroom with shower (although hot water in shower was at best warm & intermittent).
Pods were very clean as were bed laundry and towels.
Could have done with a 2nd chair in the room as it was raining when we were there so sitting outside was not really an option.
Only downside - No breakfast available at pub though.
Pub offered standard fare lunch and evening meals and it's an easy 15-20 minute walk to the town centre.
The room was as you would expect in an old pub building but the plumbing pipes were clanking intermittently through the night which made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. Other than that it was a convenient and cost effective stop over for getting the ferry the next morning. The food was very reasonable too.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
We had a brief stay to go to a local event. It was comfortable and had sufficient facilities for one night
A well supported establishment by locals. Its too far from the sea front for tourist to come and find. But easily within 10 minutes for you to walk down to the promenade. Or a couple of minutes further for you to walk straight along the road into the centre of town where the shops are. Everything in the room worked, there was a full sized fridge if you needed to use it. Decent supply of tea and coffee. The room could do with a bit of a freshen up , But its a very old building, your never going to make it look like a premier inn. Locals were friendly. Ample size flat carpark with Cameras. You can use carpark for overnight camper stops for free if you use the pub. Lovely large Beer garden. Entertainment on some weekends on the stage outside. There is a large covered area, just in case. Childs play are too. Young lad behind bar with a beard was particularly helpful
O and the home made steak and ale pie was excellent. A proper pie, not a tin with a lid on.
