Upon arriving at the hotel, I approached the front desk, eager to check in after a long journey. Unfortunately, the interaction was far from warm. The receptionist didn't even ask for my ID; instead, she moved straight to her computer, processing our reservation with an air of indifference. Without any greeting or pleasantries exchanged—no “good evening” or “hello”—she handed me our room keys after just requesting my credit card.
As she slid the key cards across the counter, I pointed to the left and asked about the elevator. Her only response was a terse “that’s all” before she returned to her screen, leaving me feeling somewhat dismissed.
Exhausted, we made our way up to our assigned room, only to discover that one of the key cards failed to unlock the door. Frustration began to bubble beneath the surface. After a long day, I wasn’t in the mood for more complications. I took the elevator back down, seeking help from the young woman at the front desk. I explained the situation and asked her to reset the key card. She glanced at me, a bit detached, and did as I requested.
Once back at our room, we tried again, and this time the door finally opened—only to reveal that we had been assigned to a room already occupied by guests! Shocked and bewildered, we stood there momentarily, and my frustration escalated. We returned to the front desk for the second time, and I clearly conveyed my irritation at the whole experience.
