Yikes

Poorly managed hotel that lacks customer service expertise. Housekeeping is an extra charge so do not expect linen changes, fresh towels, or a quick wipe down. Probably not a big deal if you are only staying 2 nights but certainly a problem for anything longer than that. After speaking with a Manager (Abbie), their housekeeping policy is vague and I was told I could have housekeeping services for an extra charge. She also told me that they do not advertise that they provide housekeeping. Shame on me for assuming that a hotel would clean your room daily. Double check to see what size your bed will be as there seems to be discrepancies around this as well. Our room was street level so we had the pleasure of listening to cars driving by all night. This was a suite that was over a $1k nightly rate. Confusing layout with numerous elevator rides required to get from point A to point B. Guests wander around looking confused. Overall, expect to pay 5 star prices for a 2 star experience.

The Villa suite was spacious, comfortable, and had added amenities like steam in the shower, fireplace, and a jacuzzi. The kitchen was well equipped. The jacuzzi was in the bedroom, which was odd. Other than the bathroom and kitchen, the Villa was dated and well worn, and the floors were pretty badly damaged. Our Villa was directly across from the 24 hour a day swimming pool with no view of the mountain. So, we were looking directly at the pool from the balcony, and they were looking directly at us. The entire Westgate property is labyrinthine requiring the use multiple elevators and long hallways to navigate. It was a common joke on the elevators about guests being lost in the maze and never heard from again. The staff were very friendly but equally unhelpful. No one knew anything about anything. So, we were on our own for even the most basic information or directions. For instance, no one knew that the Westgate operated a shuttle to and from the Canyons Village to Park City. When learned that on our last day when we saw the Westgate shuttle in Park City (after having taken an Uber). Most of the staff were foreign nationals. While I applaud anyone learning a foreign language, and wish I could speak their language as well as they spoke English, it often made communication difficult. Ski lifts were within easy walking distance, but it is not ski-in - ski-out as advertised.

Easily one of my favorite resorts to go to and we don't even ski. The rooms are spacious and convenient with a kitchenette. The beds are unreal comfortable with large plush marshmallow like pillows. Staff is super friendly and helpful. The spa is second to none with one of the best massages I've ever had and amenities everywhere you look. The sports/ burger bar never fails to impress with speed and quality. Probably my only complaint is the confusing layout of the floors and getting from point a to b can be a challenge. The directions need to be a little easier to follow. We will absolutely be back for another stay.
