Really felt i was in the best part of the city, great starting off point for any direction. Staff was super friendly and rooms were clean. Will recommend and was my first time in Paris and didnt want to spend a fortune on a hotel that i was only going to sleep in for the nost part

I had booked a room for my parents to stay as I was ready to go out and enjoy the city on our one night in Paris. As soon as the staff saw there was three of us, he immediately became defensive and said there is no way three can stay. I let him know that the reservation was for my parents and I just needed to leave my bag in the room and he vehemently refused. When my father asked if I could sit in the lobby he again vehemently refused. My parents were so shocked at the rudeness and the capacity of the staffs arguing that they refused their stay knowing we would have nowhere to go for the night. They were not able to enjoy the reservation that was booked at Hotel Castex because upon our late arrival due to a delayed flight, they were met with the illest of attitudes we’ve ever experienced in hospitality. The experience has left me with a horrible memory of Paris. Luckily we had a wonderful driver who came back to pick us up and show us around the city before taking us back to the airport while our paid room remains vacant. The driver was also ashamed of our treatment at this establishment. I would never, ever recommend this hotel to anyone with a soul.

The room was so small you had to shuffle around the bed sideways, and if you opened your suitcase on the only section of floor large enough for it you couldn’t open the doors to leave. Probably not an issue for solo travelers but for a 3 star hotel and a family room booking this was insanely small.

I stayed at this hotel in 2009 and felt welcomed and cared for. The same cannot be said of several of the staff during this stay. Additionally, the room was arranged so that moving from one side of the bedroom to the other was difficult (too small).

Our room was clean but very small. Almost too small for two people. Very difficult to get around the bed. Very little space for luggage. Bathroom was also very small but had essentials. No counter space and tiny shower. We were there for only one night so it was fine. Breakfast was quite good.

Unique and historical hotel in the fascinating "Le Marais neighborhood" in Paris. Hotel is easily accessible via Metro station:" Bastille". You can reach the hotel from the airport via metro and train from the airport. Just one transfer. The are is bustling with restaurants, shopping, Bar, stores, galleries. The hotel is an historical French landmark. Staff is very helpful. AC works: A plus in Paris. Breakfast is good. Room is spacious enough and bathroom is well equipped. Overall is was satisfied. Will def stay again whenever in Paris!!!

Charming Hotel Castex
Hotel Castex blends 18th century decor with modern amenities. My room was charming and overlooked Rue Castex. The pink and cream curtains are reminiscent of Marie Antoinette. There is a private modern bathroom. The staff speaks English and was friendly and helpful. The area is safe for walking alone at night and close the cafe’s and pâtisseries.
