Having stayed at least 8 times in the past year, and recommended the Waymore Hotel Spa and Casino to numerous persons, I have no choice but to discontinue choosing the Waymore.
On this visit to Panama i rented 2 rooms, the second being for my sisters.
We were offered room upgrades.
Things that did not go as per norm:
- Noise insulation between rooms was poor;
- The fire alarm sounded 3 times on the first night,;
- The air conditioner did not function in 1 room for 2 nights, on the 3rd night we contacted the front desk, the technician came and worked on it eventually fixing it after about 25 minutes. Then at about 1:00am the temperature went to 17oC and was unable to shut off or change. The next day, the receptionist reminded me that technical service is available 24 hours a day… but I asked her to understand that a guest will not be willing to allow persons in the room after bedtime;
- The air conditioner in my room shut off during the night;
- On the third night, the toilet in my room flooded at around 10:30, I informed the receptionist the next morning (the day of our check-out) who again reminded me that technicians are available 24 hours. The day before I inquired about the cost of a late checkout- honestly the receptionist seemed more interested in this event rather than the defective toilet.
- I paid for the late checkout for the rooms; there was never even a cleanup after the flooded toilet- I had to manoevre my way to avoid the water from the toilet
