I had a great time at the Sandpiper Beacon! The location is perfect—right on the beach, and the views are stunning. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and there were tons of fun activities for both kids and adults. The on-site amenities like the lazy river, waterslides, and tiki bar really added to the vacation vibe. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and I appreciated having a kitchenette for convenience. It’s a great spot for a laid-back, family-friendly beach getaway. I’d definitely come back!

When you go onto Sandpiper‘s website, the room does not reflect as it does when you are actually there. This is worse than Motel 1 exactly there is a not a motel one. It’s a six so that’s how bad it is. I do not understand How is Expedia affiliated with this resort from the travel to the room with indoor carpet throughout the hallways that could cause any type of bugs to live in there to the room that look like extended stay in the worst part of whatever ever city it was disgusting. The worst part was I checked in only to go view the room once I saw the room I came back down and Sandpiper charge me a full night for 10 minutes of my day just to look at the room and offered me to go to other rooms, but they are the same so there wasn’t a need to do so. This whole resort should be condemned. I would not let my dog live there overnight.

We enjoyed how family friendly that it was .. even the bar area was filled with kids playing and very vigilant security guards were always around, which was great for us as parents who like to allow their teens to do their own thing. I didn’t like that the partial view (that we had at least) wasn’t described some other way because partial view in that case was very literally a small view in a shared balcony type space that we had to share with three other rooms. The room was very underwhelming but okay.. the beds were just too small (I don’t think there were even a full size) and the kids struggled to get comfortable on the springy couch bed. Overall it was good and we made do just fine.

Staff is great!

The staff is AMAZING and that is what really made the experience a positive. It is an older resort on the veach, so signs of wear and tear. Our first room was not acceptable and needed a big overhaul. Keri at the front desk showed us other rooms and quickly changed us to ensure a pleasant stay. Amenities are great. They are also in process of remodeling rooms.

The staff was top notch! Super nice and very helpful. The area was beautiful. Safe, quiet and well maintained. It was not crowded at all, but that could be due to the time of year we went. Only complaint was the inside pool area had a smell and none of the beds in the actual condo were that comfortable. The king bed creaked and squeaked every time we moved and the pillows were lumpy. Parking was convenient either in front of the resort or just across the street. Not far at all. Be prepared to pay resort fees and pet fees, if you bring one, as soon as you get there. The Pizza Hut across the street is great for a quick dinner. Overall, I do recommend this resort and I would definitely stay there again, even with the uncomfortable beds that I hope they change soon.

Sandpiper Beacon Resort has direct beach access. My family and I loved the amenities. 2 outdoor pools, hot tub, and an indoor lazy river and pool. We spent time playing mini golf, sitting on the swings and watching the sunset and ocean. We had our mini goldendoodle with us. Try the ice cream from the ice cream shop! The things I had some issues with, I had asked for pool towels and bath towels for the room. The worker only handed me pool towels and then went to the side/back-room area and was on their personal phone. Our bathroom had a clog, and I used the text service to report it. It took them about 2 hours, which I understand they are busy. What I did not appreciate is all the water that was left on the floor. Like they just flung the plunger or whatever they used. I carry cleaning supplies with me (I work in healthcare) so I just cleaned it myself because it was late, and we wanted to shower after a long beach/pool day. The next day, we had a leak coming from upstairs and into the shower and exhaust fan area in the bathroom. I reported it to the front desk. Someone came to look at it and told me that "someone upstairs probably didn't close the curtain, and it is causing the leak." That was all that was said to me. They never came back. There was a tiny tear in the ceiling from this leak. Eventually after a few hours it did stop. Most of the staff are very kind and helpful.

A Older Gem With a Breathtaking View & Great Staff

We stayed 2 nights in the ocean view room that slept 6. Our view was breathtaking. You could tell that it was a older hotel with mostly remodeled rooms. The door to the batheoom would not stay shut but overall a nice and clean room. The pullout couch had a really thin mattress. The staff was amazing! We called to get some blankets to try to cushion the mattress in the couch and we had not 1 blanket but 2 within 5 minutes. We needed extra towels (we had 6 in the room) and they had those to us within 5 minutes or less as well. There are 2 outdoor pools, 1 indoor pool, a gift shop, and a ice cream shop all connected. They have swings to sit on to watch the waves roll in, and hammocks to lie in as well. The view from our balcony was beautiful! One thing that I will say is that if the restaurant across tgr street (coconuts) is recommended, DO NOT go. The food is not great and definitely NOT worth the price. Plus they charge 18% gratuity and that applies to a party of 1 or 15 or more. We will most definitely stay at Sandpiper again!

Zero Frills & Not What We Expected

This hotel is absolutely no frills. Towels smelled musty, felt scratchy and strange, carpets were gross, everything in our room was grubby, no housekeeping service available, had to pay deposits for iron/board, pool towels, and came with transparent toiletpaper. With a family of 6, it was so much work to keep towels stocked. The rooms have no closets or hooks, just a small rack to hang items, no hangers and a small dresser. Zero atmosphere, pools were murky and trash in them, but at least they were heated. We booked a partial view room, and when we arrived, there was no view because it was completely blocked by foliage. When we asked about moving rooms to one with an actual partial view, they said we could move for $700. There were feral cats that hung around our patio area, and so we could not use it. The cable and wifi also did not work, and after a service call, they told us that it was what it was. So with a very rainy week, and 4 children, it made for quite a long, boring and frustrating time to keep them occupied while at the hotel. It does have great beach access, and a nice little place on the beach to grab lunch, but there is also a rainwater overflow that is on the property that dumps brown water into the gulf, and seagulls flock to it, so the beach was covered in bird droppings, and made for very unappealing beach time. Great potential, but missed the mark on so many small details, we will not be back.
