I have been staying here for years . It is always our first stop after a few days of camping in the desert. The pools are great . Always clean. A wide variety of temperatures. This is a charming mid century Spa Hotel that may not be everyones cup of tea but if you are looking to unwind after a few days in the desert this place great. And a bargain too.

We choose this old hotel for the price, and the access to numerous mineral hot tubs and pools right outside our room and were not disappointed. There is secure parking and good restaurants an easy walk away. When our room had an issue with the plumbing the response was prompt...and we were moved to a new room immediately.

Great place to unwind

I've stayed at DHS Spa Hotel maybe a dozen times over the past decade. The Spa is definitely a hold-over from an earlier era, and has lots of idiosyncrasies (few wall plugs, finicky TVs and heating/AC -- but the overall ambiance is completely charming. And the hot pools are as lovely as they look in any PR pic you see of the property. It's also remarkably inexpensive compared to most lodging in the area.

My 3 majors concerns. There is not a phone in the room to call front desk. You have to go to the front desk for your questions, The staff was always outside smoking, you had to stand at the desk before someone realized you were there. I was told to plug the tub with a rag to give my 2 yr old son a bath. The stopper did not work.

The pools are great. I go for the soak. Just be aware that's it's a dated place from a bygone era -- think Mad Men. But staff are good and I love the bar on site. It's a good place to relax. Didn't try the restaurant

The room was old and needing a lot of updating. The hot water often turned off in the middle of a shower. The WiFi wasn't strong enough to browse the internet. Never saw the daily housekeeping that is listed. The room only had two desk chairs to sit in and a big open space in the corner for a comfortable chair, it was also missing an end table. I kept thinking "this place is a dump".

Baby roaches in bathroom, room coffee pot had dead spider in pot, took 2 people to open sliding door to patio and paint was bubbly and peeling and cherry on top...went to wash hands in sink and the knob faucet came off. I thought maybe i was on candid camera as a joke. NEVER AGAIN !! OH, food is way over priced and took 1hr and 10 minutes to get food (we were the only people in room) 6 of us!!!
