ABVI in Heflin was a pleasant surprise, I didn’t expect to find a decent motel here. Lots of highway noise early in the evening, but it dies off as the night goes on. Very friendly staff.

Overall, nice facility with friendly staff. Rooms are decent size, beds are clean and comfortable, and it’s not generally overbooked. Lots of highway noise, but it eventually dies down.

We checked in with 2 small dogs. The desk clerk,I did not get his name,was very nice and helpful. He even came to our room after check in to troubleshoot the TV/Cable for us and had it up and working in no time. The room was clean. Only complaint I have,that is more of a personal preference is,the bedspread was thin and not as thick as I like. I usually travel with my own thick blanket but forgot it this time. If you are cold natured,you might want to bring your own. They might have extra blankets available at the hotel,I didn't ask. The in room fridge kept our drinks cold. This is convenient to the interstate,convenience stores,fast food restaurants,,a Mexican restaurant and Oyster bar Seafood place are both less than half a mile from the hotel.

Pleasantly surprised

Honestly I was surprised by this location. Rooms were clean, AC worked great, beds were okay, only problem was each bed (queens) only had 2 pillows total. I say to just let those who need more than one pillow to bring extras. Location was very well light. Would definitely stay again.

The road leading in has potholes that are huge and fortunately I arrived during daylight hours or I might have ruined a wheel and/or tire. There is no sign indicating the issue.
