I had booked 2 guests for an overnight stay at the Fairmont Laurier hotel, based on the incredible reviews that I read, and prime location on Expedia.ca One guest woke up this morning for a shower and the vent in his ceiling was leaking. Attached is a video of the damage. He immediately informed the maintenance/front staff. And the best they were able to do was put a giant bucket in the middle of his bathroom floor. This was noticed at roughly 6:30-7am local time, by the time the bucket was brought up to catch the dripping ceiling water, it was 8AM. Checkout was at noon. He had no choice but to checkout at 8:30AM. There’s no way, anyone was able to function in a bathroom with a giant trash can in the middle of the floor.

Super well located historic property to visit Ottawa! Easy walking to almost anywhere downtown. I would recommend parking offsite or visiting without a car. Valet parking was frustrating even during quiet periods. Food is also pricey on site, but many great restaurants nearby.
