The hotel is in a very convenient location , easy walk to the Rideau Mall, Parliament Hill , Byward Market and Canal. Great for people with an active life style. Everything is cool.

Exceptionnel service—everyone at the front desk was kind, helpful, accommodating and professional. The room was very nice and cozy. It was clean, we enjoyed the decor. The only issue, and I’m afraid there’s not much the hotel can do, was as it’s located in a very busy area, I kept getting woken up by people outside honking, yelling, partying, etc. Next time I’ll ask to be off the main street, next to the market (even though the view was nice). I’m a light sleeper, my husband is not. He slept though the noise. Also a lot of sound comes in the room from the hallway. Not the end of the world.

What’s listed as a 3-star hotel, I felt it was closer to a 4-star. The rooms were nicely furnished, bathrooms were clean, and the amenities were appreciated by our family. The staff were very friendly and helpful, located in DT Ottawa and only a 3 min walking distance to Byward Market. The Rideau mall was an easy 5 min walk, tourist attractions to the parliament buildings were an easy 10 min walk. The trade offs to being so central to everything are the homeless shelter is a street over and the street noises (loud cars and music) can be heard if you’re an early sleeper. Also, the pool was a little bit murky…the kids didn’t get any ear aches or burning eyes, it might just be an imbalance with the chlorine. Otherwise, our family really enjoyed our stay.

The staff person at check in was exemplary. He was attentive and responsive despite numerous interruptions. I asked, and he relayed to housekeeping, that we needed the sofa bed made up. When I arrived at the room the sofa bed had been pulled out and the sheets and cover left in a bag on the sofa bed. I made the bed... something I have never needed to do before in a hotel.

I like how clean the rooms were. They were the right size, well stocked with towels. The beds were comfortable. The Bistro was nice, the food was very good. Best part of all was the friendly staff. We will come again.
