Good for large families

Parking is an additional $38+tax but you can park until 4pm the day of checkout. Room was fine, dated, but had lots of amenities and room. Pool was basic but nice. We're a large family so the size of the two bedroom suite was much appreciated and we would stay again.

A couple of things

Everything was very nice except for 2 things. When rolling over in bed, the bed moved quite a bit. Perhaps something needs tightening? The other item: Everything is so technical using electronics, it is very difficult to find information about in-house restaurant menu, etc. Perhaps some hardcopy available upon request or better yet, offered. Bed sheets had not been changed, the clerk told me "sometimes the maid doesn't have the time, that's what happened". Nice property otherwise, pool is nice, area around feels safe, underground parking available. Good units, looks like apartments that have been repurposed. Good spot for a family that wants to cook a few meals during their stay.

My initial reservation with Joel and then Sarah who was the night auditor at Cartier was amazing. I made an error with my stay dates and Sarah was awesome. Once i arrived i was sent to a deluxe queen room rather than the Superior room I signed up for. The room was trash! This was not my first stay at Cartier and the room was small, you walk right into a kitchen that is not sectioned off and there was an ajoining room (never experienced that with previous visits) and the lock on that door did not work. When i called front desk I continued to get the same funky attitude from Dafnie thst i got during my check in, but the maintenance man was super nice and he came up and verified with Dafnie thst the door was broken. He tried to get her to get me a other room, prefera ly a Superior room which is what i ordered in the firet place. I could tell he was getting some pushback from her over the phone so he said he would go downstairs and talk to her in person. About 20 minutes went by and i got a call from the her saying they had anothee room for me. She then asked if i "made any mess" in the room and i let her know i sat on the couch and didnt even get my coat off. She then asked "did you go to the bathroom??" At that point i just laughed hung up and went and got my key for my new room. That room was what i expected and save for a disgustingly dirty tea kettle it was excellent and my gf and i had an excellent stay. Thank you to the maintenance man for saving the day!

Awesome staff, very accommodating. The room was very spacious but not the most clean. Not uncomfortably so but enough that I noticed and may deter me from booking with them next time. The location was great near most activities we did for a decent price.

There are no walk-in/wheel-in showers. They are all bath tubs with shower curtains which is NOT conducive to a mobility challenged person. The mattress was very firm and like sleeping on a board. Parking is charged per day and I feel if I’m a registered guest, parking should be included in my stay. The fridge in our room kicked in every hour and was so loud it was disruptive. It actually vibrated the glassware in the kitchenette. The hotel is in a good location but is quite outdated. The restaurant was quite disorganized. The waitress we had was also the bartender and would clear tables as well. It was very loud and took quite some time to get our order which was incorrect upon serving us. We tried to have the order corrected to no avail. The manager removed the incorrect items from our table (don’t know which table they were supposed to go to) and still charged us for them anyway. We waited 20 minutes for a revised receipt before we gave up and just paid. It is centrally located so there are other restaurants you can visit. It would probably be much better in warmer weather but being as it was winter during our stay, the sidewalks were buried and getting around by walking was quite difficult. Byward Market and Rideau skating are close and several museums are a short drive. Rated a 3 mainly because the bed was rock hard, the fridge condenser was failing and no wheelchair access rooms anywhere in the hotel. This hotel definitely needs to be renovated and upgraded.

Warm welcome at front desk. We had a 2-room suite. When we realized the fridge was not working, they gave us a new room in no time. Comfortable couch and beds. Clean and soundproof room. Well located… you can walk to the Parlement, By Market, Rideau canal… There’s a Farm Boy 5 minutes away. Would definitely go back.
