We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Monterey Grasmere Osaka. The location couldn’t be more convenient.It is directly connected to JR Namba Station.It made moving between train lines, shops and restaurants completely weatherproof and hassle-free. The area is full of dining options, from quick bites in Namba Walk to a wide variety of restaurants nearby. You’re just minutes from Dotonbori, Shinsaibashi and Kuromon Market, so there’s always something exciting to see or eat. Our room was clean, spacious and had a beautiful city view. The hotel feels peaceful and slightly removed from the hustle, even though it’s in the heart of it all. Staff were helpful and polite and check-in was smooth. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a comfortable, well-connected and food-friendly stay in Osaka!

I must say, the location of the hotel is just perfect! It's close to everything—Kintetsu Osaka-Namba station, JR Namba, Dotonbori, and OCAT (the station for the airport limousine). All these are within walking distance. Plus, there’s a large supermarket, “Life,” located in the basement, which was super convenient. The hotel made it easy to explore not only Osaka but also nearby cities like Kyoto and Nara. I even came directly from Nagoya. The city view from my room on the 29th floor was amazing! It was great to open the window for ventilation. The room itself was rather small, which is typical in Japan, but I managed to fit my 28-inch suitcase in the corner without issue. The bedding was comfortable, and the washroom was clean with the bath tub. However, the room was a bit on the dark side, and the layout felt somewhat old-fashioned. There were also limited outlets for charging, which was a minor issue. All in all, I would definitely consider this hotel for future trips to Osaka.

Worst service we ever had in a hotel in Japan

When we were checking in we were told that our booking has been cancelled. And instead of double checking, the person at check in counter just kept insisting that our reservation was cancelled. And this was after the fact that: 1) our booking was for 2 rooms and fully paid already. 2) I have a case file from hotels.com confirming that we communicated that our family would be arriving late to check in, we are not expecting a refund for the late check in AND we explained our situation completely (we had just suffered a sudden death in our family thus explaining our need for a late check in). THE LACK OF COMPASSION and empathy the check in staff showed us was terrible. They just kept repeating that we cancelled our reservation when nothing of the sort happened. I kept asking to speak with their manager to ask for help, but manager was just ignoring us (he was also at the counter). I don’t know if it was laziness or racism on their part - but this is not the kind of customer service we are accustomed to especially in Japan. We travel to Japan at least once a year so it’s safe to say we know good service from bad. When they finally found our booking (one hour later), they did not even apologize or explain. Terrible terrible service. And at such a horrible time for my family. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL. Also cleaning could be better. They do not replenish all amenities also. Location is just okay for me too. It is a bit of a walk to Dotonbori etc

One block away from the party! Minute or two walk away from a 7-11 and Family mart. So much to do within 10-15 minute walk from the hotel! From our three hotels in our last visit to Japan, this was our favorite! Super good view too.

This hotel had the best breakfast buffet of four hotels that I stayed in. It had an incredible selection of both western and Japanese food. The restaurant is on the 23rd floor of the hotel, so it has the most amazing views of Osaka. We also had a queen bed instead of the usual two super singles in most hotels.

Decent hotel in great location

The hotel is fine. Quite a nice lobby and great location. We had a good view of the city. Room is fairly dated so could use a little Upgrade. Beds were comfortable and AC worked well. Definitely didn’t feel luxury but it was fine
