The pre-check-in experience was confusing due to limited information. Upon arrival, the front desk staff informed me that Expedia had not forwarded my room request, and there were no notes attached to the reservation.
During check-in, the staff provided minimal details about the property, requiring me to ask numerous questions to gain clarity. Despite this, I was assigned a room and later switched to the Courtyard, which was perfect.
When I requested the folio, I discovered erroneous charges, including food and alcohol, incorrectly billed to my room. This was frustrating as I don't consume alcohol, was traveling with a child, and spent my days at theme parks, returning to the hotel only after 9:30 PM. I pointed out to the staff that security cameras could confirm I never dined at their bistro at night. They acknowledged the mistake and adjusted the charges.
Additionally, the check-in staff informed me of an extra destination fee, despite Expedia previously assuring me that I was not responsible for such fees. I believe the vacation club concierge lacked a proper understanding of Disney park ticket prices. Instead, she redirected me to a third-party vendor who significantly inflated the prices.
Marriott should consider offering discounted tickets to such attractions, providing guests with incentives and exclusive offers to enhance their overall satisfaction.
