If looking for a beachfront stay with a window to the sea, this is a wonderful choice. Clean, simple, comfortable, roomy with the sight and sound of waves breaking. The staff was kind and responsive too.

It was okay for what you pay for. No AC. Smelled like fish in the rooms. And the front desk person gave me the office vacuum telling me to go vacuum my own room. Then I turned around and walked it back to them as I was going out for the day and then said they would send someone up later. We just wanted the sand out of the room. That was the negative part, otherwise it was okay. And good beach front.

Just here for the view
When telling my friends about this place I kept referring to it as the dumpy motel. The rooms were very outdated and the ceiling fans needed a good cleaning. But, if you don't want to spend a fortune for an amazing view of the ocean and you want to listen to the waves lull you to sleep at night, this is the best place out there. Plus, Rockaway was a cute little town to stay to go and visit away places on the Oregan Coast. The receptionist wasn't super friendly or helpful and seemed bothered when we came down to ask for a new trash bag. We stayed 4 nights and never had room service. We would put our trash outside and leave out towels in a basket when we needed new clean ones. One of the perks of this place was having a small kitchen area and having a front window and a back window.

The lady lady at the front desk Was very rude. I felt as if she didnt see me and i was there at 246pm the lady at the desk told me My room wasn't ready even though I was there 20 minutes early.I left and came back and there was a new lady at the desk in my room was magically ready

I was hoping for more
I was excited this property was right on the beach. The room was very outdated, in both look and in functionality. One outlet didn't work at all, the bed sagged in the middle, and the pillows were extremely thin. Everything looked run down and dirty. Would have loved to have had the blinds and windows open at night, but the neighbors on both sides seem to be long term guests and were walking back and forth to each other's rooms frequently. The location of this hotel is great, but not worth the high price of the room.

Room did have apparent mildew, mold forming at window sills, seems typical at the coast. Screens were not clean and blocked with dirt. Room stayed plenty warm with the single heater, however a simple box fan would have been fantastic for clearing the air space as the bathroom did not have an exhaust fan. Otherwise a great stay including the 9am train horn! Beach access was super convenient and great stretch of shore!

We love the Silver Sands. It is a motel right on the beach. We had an amazing view from our second floor and we love being able to just walk to the sand in a few steps and have miles and miles of beach!. The staff are always great. It is super close to restaurants. We appreciate the kitchenette. We will return.
