Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
The beds are extremely uncomfortable. Very lumpy. It made it so difficult to sleep. The shower looks like it was painted and the paint was peeling off. The staff was very nice and I received great customer service. The breakfast was not bad.
I completed the pre-arrival survey sent to me by text and indicated we would be checking in at 4:00 pm. The check in time listed on the website and displayed in the lobby was 3:00 pm. When we arrived at 4:00, we were given keys to our room. We got our luggage out of the car and went up the elevator to the room. The door was open and they were cleaning the room. We tried to ask the person cleaning how long it would be until the room was ready but she couldn’t speak English. We took all of our luggage back downstairs to the lobby. I told the worker at the desk that our room wasn’t ready and she just looked at me. We sat there until 5:00. I went up to the desk and asked if they would let her know when the room was actually ready and she said it would show on her system. I asked her if check-in time was 3:00 and she said, “Yes, it’s at 3:00.” (by this time it was after 5:00). Eventually one of the cleaners did come down and tell us the room was ready (the person at the desk had not told us). We gathered up all our luggage and went back up to the room.
When we opened the door to the room we were hit with a very bad musty smell. My daughter went and asked for some air freshener. She was given some spray Lysol cleaner.
I was also very concerned about safety. The “locked 24 hours” door at the side of the building was supposed to require a room key to open. It was completely unlocked our entire stay, including one night when we returned very late. Anyone could have walked in.

The woman who checked me in took a phone call and then typed on her computer for a while while I was standing there waiting to be checked in. She never looked at me or acknowledged my existence. Finally she snapped I’ll be with you in a minute. She was extremely unpleasant and unprofessional.
The hotel is convenient to the area. The beds were uncomfortable and well worn. I also felt the room could have been cleaner. There was mascara on the bath floor, a hair stuck on shower wall, and the bed sheets were not even tucked making me wonder is they had even changed the sheets. Not good. Did not eat breakfast. The price was ok but don’t think I would stay there again. I come to Norman often & there are many hotels to choose from.

Management needs to get ahead of maintenance.
The only thing that was not so great was the fact that the power went out right before I arrived, which sometimes is just a fluke, so had to wait a bit till I could get into my room, but the girl had already given me my passkeys and I’m temporarily using a walker so after slogging my way down the hall to my room I found the passkey wouldn’t work-apparently the girl didn’t realize the passkey cannot be coded if the power is off. I called the desk and explained my situation and someone did come and let me in with newly-programmed cards. Then I found out a lamp wouldn’t work, so the next day I asked a girl cleaning rooms if she had a replacement bulb (I had already checked and the lamp was plugged in to the wall socket)) so she left and brought back a bulb but didn’t stay to make sure that that solved the problem-and when I tried it, it still didn’t work. So I found her and said, “Don’t throw away that bad bulb, it might be something else. She said she’d report it. Then I discovered the entry light didn’t work and was told that it was connected to the desk light and that that was the reason the desk light wouldn’t work. Then the next morning Joe, the maintenance guy said he’d try to fix everything while I was out but I found a note from him later saying he was not able to fix it before I was gone. It certainly was not his fault, as he did what he could at the time. At least the bathroom light worked and two other room lights did work. I still enjoyed my stay anyway.
