Unique and wonderful property!
It was everything I expected from reading previous reviews. Welcoming, comfortable, clean, spacious rooms to sprawl out in. I couldn't have asked for more. The staff and owners were kind and gracious, the breakfast was DELICIOUS. You won't get a view of the river, but you get so much more. Just book it!

We have stayed here twice now and it is our go-to hotel whenever we're in the area. In fact, it is our favorite hotel of any we have ever stayed at anywhere. The beds are extremely comfortable, the rooms are spacious, the breakfast is amazing. I have no criticisms at all.

Comfy in Ogdensburg
We enjoyed our stay at this large yet cozy place. The rooms were very large, with lots of interesting things to enjoy. There were also comfortable common spaces and lots of local and American historical information. The rainy weather precluded use of the pool. We had a nice stroll to Buster's for a good dinner at the recommendation of the owner, and a great breakfast in the moring. Would definitely return.

The Inn is a historic building in Ogdensburg and has had a major renovation completed in order to give it a new life. The rooms are massive, the grounds and the pool are lovely and the owners are very attentive and helpful. The breakfast is amazing! A great place to stay.

I love the Sherman Inn!!! From the incredibly spacious and beautifully decorated themed rooms to the “make yourself at home” atmosphere, it’s always my go to when planning a trip to or around the Ogdensburg area. Breakfast is elegantly presented and always delicious. The Library is filled with all kinds of historical information about the area including scrapbooks and yearbooks. There are even some books written by James Reagen, the very knowledgeable co-owner of the Sherman Inn! There is also a gymnasium filled with a variety of toys and games sure to delight any child. The Sherman is so much more than a bed and breakfast, it’s an attraction in itself.

The rooms are huge, school classroom. Owners are cordial, available. Furnished beautifully, antiques, history, each room named after President who visited the area. Rooms clean, bottled water in room, beds very comfortable. Close to excellent local reasonably priced restaurants. Mini kitchen in hall, coffee maker in kitchen. Great breakfast. Pool and fire pit outdoors in front. Only draw back No elevator. 5 stars will return

This was our third stay at the Sherman Inn and it never disappoints! Jim and Donna are amazing hosts who make you feel like family. You will not find nicer rooms at a B&B anywhere. You owe it to yourself to stay here!

This property was amazing! They maintained the school feel as well as making it a desirable place to stay. The owners make it that much better with their welcoming personalities. The brunch was delicious. The presidential tour was fun. The library and gym! I cant say enough about it. Its also very close to the water where you can take a nice stroll!!

Do not judge the book by its cover. This place will bring you back to your childhood and tie in so much area history with it. Each room, even the closets are named for Presidents that had some type of influence to this area, most good but a couple bad. Each guest room has its own unique style decor and history. There is a library, a gymnasium( yes, just like you remember from 1960’s stage and all) and wonderful area they serve a delicious breakfast. It was an experience anyone who wants to explore something different than most. We thank our hosts.

City school converted to B and B. Historical room themes. Each room is giant and still has aspects of the school classroom. Available full kitchen would make it an ideal place for a longer term stay. Very clean. Friendly owners. Breakfast was excellent. Great place to stay when visiting colleges in area (easy 30 minute drive to most)
