Wonderful place to stay!! Recommended 100% wonderful location within walking distance to everything. Staff very attentive and breakfast was amazing. First time in Oaxaca and loved it but having a wonderful place to stay made the trip even better! Will definitely come back and will definitely stay here again!

Checking into this hotel was a horrible experience. We were traveling with our two adult daughters(who had their own room at another hotel). The desk manager refused to allow them past the desk to help us get our luggage to our upstairs room. We are 70 with bad knees and there are no elevators in this hotel. Other issues were non-working air conditioning in 90 degree weather. There is also very low water pressure for the shower and water temperature that does not remain constant. The one bright spot at this facility was Carmen, who runs the tour desk. She is a wonderful person and was very helpful in getting us an airport shuttle at 4 a.m. We tried to get a refund when we checked in so we could move to a better(and cooler) hotel but the desk manager said I had to contact Expedia. Expedia did not answer their contact number or chat session. We were stuck without any assistance in a foreign land.

Similar to other reviews, the property is very peaceful and quaint once you step inside. The courtyard is very nice with lots of natural light but it does amplify people’s conversations, which makes it challenging if you are a light sleeper. Thankfully it was only the first morning where we heard a lot of talking, and the remainder of our stay was quiet for the most part. My only major complaint is the mattress. There was a noticeable indent on one side of the bed and it does trap body heat making it very uncomfortable to sleep through the night. But the staff was kind and helpful. The breakfast was simple, yet delicious and the coffee was consistently good.

Hotel Trébol met our expectations. The place is really nice. Our room was very clean and spacious, with a very comfortable bed. Staff really attentive and eager to help with our demands. Hotel Trébol is very clean and situated conveniently to major markets in Oxaca. I had a hard time relaxing during my stay here as the main building is an echo chamber and everything echoes in the courtyard to our rooms and they are very kid friendly so you can hear them crying and yelling all night. It was also very hard to take a shower due to problems with water pressure and lack of hot water. I would never stay here again but if you have kids, like cold showers and like to wake up early, it’s a good choice!

Overall, a nice stay. Very close to the center square and the markets. Very noisy. We stayed on the first level and the constant cleaning by staff at 5/6 am was obnoxious. I would not stay here again.

Adequate

This was a perfectly adequate stay, not the best, not the worst. The best part is the location. It is within walking distance of many areas of interest. We did not have a problem with the hot water as others have mentioned, however, the water pressure was dismal. It could use with a bit of updating. The bolt lock was a struggle to lock and open and bathroom fixtures were a little loose. The internet was also spotty. The cleaning service could be better and more efficient. We came back to our room around 1pm to rest and they removed the sheets and left. I had to track them down and they finished while we were in the room. Since they don't provide "do not disturb" signs, we had to tell them not to clean the room the next day so we don't run into the same situation.

Great but be cautious of expectations.

It was a beautiful place and courtyard. However bed was way too hard. And all room service or food options were not available until 8am which is inconvenient for long days out exploring!
