After staying at the Jack London Inn for multiple days on two separate occasions, I was suddenly harassed on the last night of my last stay by the Thursday evening front desk clerk. He immediately told me that "everyone" on my floor was complaining about my dog barking, though he was unable to tell me on his own the floor or room where we were staying. Even after I told him that my dog had been with his sitter all day and with me all night and we were both very clear that he had done no barking, he demanded ined to know what room I was staying in when I walked into lobby with my dog after a long walk. He also refused to tell me who had allegedly complained about me and my dog. During the time that we stayed at the end, my dog made FaceTime with all of our immediately adjacent neighbors, next door and across the hall, all of whom regarded him and me totally positively. No one ever complained to me or his sitter about anything despite ample opportunities to do so.
After I continued to tell the clerk that this was inaccurate, he literally began telling me that he never said the dog did anything wrong, effectively trying to gaslight me. He then threatened to send a security guard to my room, although he did not specify what the purpose of that security guard would be. I had good relationships with both of the night security guards whom I met, especially the young man from Gambia, whom I have known for over a year now. The clerk continued to harass me in front of guests.
