The location was nice. Being at the Marina was great, however the rooms need to be updated. The lighting the shower room was yellow and dismal. Hard to really see anything in there. The curtains did not have black out shades and there was a parking lot light blaring into the room all night long. Barely slept because of this. That is an important detail because when the sun came up, it also blasted the room. There was a funky smell in the lobby near the women's restroom and in the elevator in building 1. Staff was friendly and the Valet crew was great.

Location was great

Once you figure out how to get back into the Marina area, the place is great. The entire facility is expansive and great for a relaxing stay. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

Nice place if you know what to expect.

We found this place nestled on the waterfront in very say area of Berkeley/ Oakland some time last year but on a quick pass through. I decided to book a weekend, get out of the Humboldt County cold rain and do fun city stuff and got everything we had wished for. Great trails around the Bayfront for a beautiful morning walk. Great if you have a dog or jog in the morning. We avoided the $40 parking parking just outside the gate lot along the trail which was filled with lots of other cars and seemed safe by the absence of glass on the ground that one might expect. The bar/ restaurant are expensive but I guess what isn’t these days and we are on the waterfront in one of the most expensive city areas in the nation. There’s just something that always feels insulting about paying $11 for a beer and upwards of $20 for a cocktail. My only gripes is we booked largely for the beautiful pool use for our teenagers but apparently everyone within a 500 mile radius did the same cuz it was packed every evening to the point my kids refuse to deal with it. The gave it another try in the morning but the pool was out of service due to shock treatment as a result of the gazillion kids in it the day before. The coffee in the lobby was pitiful. It’s a self serve station like you see in every other hotel on earth except it’s. It complimentary, they charge $7 for a 16oz cup and it’s not even good coffee. Other than that, the place is really lovely.

Customer service was great and the food at the breakfast and dinner..view was awesome and fireplCe,ambiance the only complaints we have was the way the rooms were constructed and the numbers like a maze for first and second time u got out of your room,it was confusing..it was not customer friendly,like if you're drunk or senior like us,we get lost in the maze...that's all,other than that it was nice hotel fr beddings to towels to foods and be nice if parking is free🙂

The surrounding area is absolutely gorgeous. The rooms are very dated but clean. The main negative is the air conditioner is extremely noisy and it was difficult to sleep with the sound and the rattling of the AC unit. Trying to exit the parking area was a bit nightmarish. The “arms” didn’t go up and we had to go ask to be let out. A little inconvenient.

The hotel itself is OK, but parking is a major issue. Valet parking for $42/day was not available when I arrived late at night. Self parking is a nuisance as you need to use your key card to enter the parking lot ... and also to leave the parking lot. But the "leaving the parking lot" key card scanner works only about half the time. Then you need to pull forward and push a button and wait for someone in the building to lift the gate. Only one car can get through at a time, so the next person has to do the same thing. Not only is $40/day unreasonable for parking well away from any businesses or activities, the system is incredibly annoying. I will not stay here again because of the parking.

The staff was excellent. At the front desk and the restaurant. Only complaint was the hotel maintenance. The TV in one of the rooms didn’t work, the WiFi was dead and the phone too. Since we had 2 rooms it wasn’t that big of a deal since we only stayed a night. I would have asked for someone to fix everything if we stayed longer. The gym was good small but enough equipment.
