We took a leap of faith by deciding to stay at a place so new that it has no reviews and that literally opened the day of our arrival. Thankfully, it paid off. At arrival we were greeted by the hotel owners Miriam and Jaime who were very excited to meet their first hotel guests. Their hospitality and attentiveness, as well as that of the hotel’s staff, throughout our long stay never wavered; going above and beyond. Our experience felt very personal and intimate. Also, it was very easy to communicate with them using the Esh Whatsapp number, and they arranged for us dinners and activities with local recommendations also. The Selva Suite Garden room was similar enough to the pictures with the exception of the private garden which seemed smaller than in the photos and not so private. We particularly liked the room vibe and design, the double outdoor rain showers and the closet space. As with any new operation there were kinks, but the Esh team handled any concerns we highlighted extremely well. Food at the hotel restaurant was good, with some dishes tasting better than others. We particularly liked the baja style fish taco, aguachile, and the grilled avocado salad. The spa and wellness center were not ready but we still did complimentary yoga in the mornings at the pool deck. There is a sauna however we did not use it. Overall, we had a pleasant and very personal stay at Esh thanks to the Esh team and we look forward to return in the future.
