At this moment in time (Covid 19) i wouldnt personally recommend a stay here. All of the leisure facilities are closed, you have to queue for breakfast (at least 15-20 mins) each morning we were their, and the general lack of facilities was quite poor. Paper cups at breakfast and in rooms, if you can steralise plates and cutlery in a dishwssher then why not mugs/cups? General service was okay, although was better dependant on who you dealt with?

Norwich stay during Covid19 restrictions
We knew what to expect from this hotel, however, it was interesting to see how they have adapted to COVID-19. Generally all was well and the room was very clean and reception staff were very attentive. Cups, tea & coffee along with body lotion etc were provided in sealed plastic wrapping which was positive. Plenty of hand sanitiser throughout the hotel and generally good instructions available. however slightly disappointed with the inconsistency applied to safety measures by some guests which staff didn’t seem to challenge or enforce. Particularly challenging at breakfast with lack of adherence to rules. We were not given advanced warning of the requirement to book for dinner but staff were friendly and we were able to get a takeaway. Overall a good experience from a hotel we have stayed at several times previously.

No soap in the hotel rooms
Absolutely shocking, in light of the current situation cleanliness should be top priority within the hotel. When we had checked in and got into the room (which had been sealed with a sticker stating this room has been sanitized) there was no soap to wash your hands with in the bathroom, I immediately left the room and saw a member of staff in the corridor who was cleaning the room a few doors down. I asked for some soap she explained i needed to go to reception. When i explained to the lady at the reception that there was no soap in the room she apologized went out the back and came back with a travel size bottle of shampoo and explained this will do the same job. I asked again for soap she explained there has been an issue with getting soap. So i had no option but to take the shampoo. The room itself was not to a clean standard, i understand its not a modern hotel, but myself and my husband have stayed here previously when it was a Marrriott hotel and the standard of cleanliness was much higher. The toilet for instance had urine stains all around the seat around the fixings, the bath had stains around the fixings. The carpet had stains by the door and bathroom and the net curtains where filthy. We had booked in for two nights but by the next morning when there was still no soap and the reception said they couldn't get any because of the shortage we checked out, surely somebody could have gone and purchased soap locally. This is unacceptable even more so during this time.
