Nice, quiet resort. All inclusive so food was just ok. Buffet was edible. Rooms were very clean but floors could be slippery if condensation built up. High humidity the week I was there made it difficult to keep the floors dry. Staff weren't overly friendly. We had rain for 2 days and no special activities were going on. Overall, a nice place.

Excellent hotel, everything inclusive. Room minibar was free, and stocked daily. We had a massive room with a huge balcony with a side view of the pool area and the end view was the ocean. A truly magnificent postcard perfect view. The beach magnificent. Even with wind, there were no waves, perfect sand. Absolutely gorgeous in all respects. Will come again.

The rooms are falling apart. Smelled bad. Outside Pool area and beach were beautiful. The food was pretty bad And even though we paid for all inclusive after trying three restaurants for dinner, decided to eat out the rest of our 4 nights left. When we had breakfast or lunch buffet We were never able to get drinks. The bar drinks were pretty bad. The town was conveniently within walking distance and the best part of our vacation. I believe next time I will not do all inclusive. It is not worth the money.

Riu palace is a decent place, but not a place I would like to visit again based on my experience. The room they put me in was extremely noisy with loud music playing below my room till 11 PM. Not sure why they assume that families with little kids enjoy loud music till 11 PM. Their staff is absolutely clueless. I had to call the reception three times to get a bottle of water which the housekeeping forgot to put in. This is despite me tipping the housekeeping team. They have very few food choices for vegans. Also, hygiene is a major concern in their restaurant. I found dead mosquitoes on our table and a dead fly among the dessert. Not to metion birds that fly free in the indoor dining area. They boast about a kids play area, which is pretty useless. Even when the kids area “Riuland” is supposed to be open, there was no one to entertain the kids. We had to call multiple times to get the staff to come over. Rooms are pretty dated with water stains in bathrooms and shower doors that do not close. Overall, not a pleasant stay.

Overall resort is good, with clean pool and a great beach. However, the service is not up to the mark for an all-inclusive property. The onsite dining options don’t take reservations and the wait time could be as long as 2 hrs. The buffet is decent, but gets repetitive. Items are routinely mis-labeled or misplaced, so please be mindful if you have any allergies. For lunch, buffet is the only option and we were disappointed that there is no food near the pool or beach. We ordered room service one day and the food never arrived. The entertainment was good and the staff serving in the main areas were very nice. Disappointed overall for the price we paid for all-inclusive, but it is very good just from the location and cleanliness perspective.

Overall, we did have a great time. The buffets were exceptional and the food choices changed every day. The pool temperatures were good and the drinks were also good. The beach was absolutely incredible and although the chairs/umbrellas were taken very early (reserved), we always were able to find a couple of chairs to bring down to the beach. The restaurants were disappointing with regard to the "come at 6pm to either get lucky and eat at 6pm sharp or get on the 8pm wait list". There is such limited seating for such a large hotel and we were turned away almost every night. The staff in charge of the door was never pleasant which led us to go across the street to LOLA which was an incredible restaurant. The biggest issue were the two rooms we were in before we landed in our final destination. My husbands suitcase was completely soaked through from the leaking ceiling, the walls were wet and there was mold growing everywhere (make sure to look UP). I immediately got sick. Same thing with the second room. Eventually, we got into a room without any visible mold and enjoyed it. There is one employee at the front desk with a horrible, sarcastic attitude that should learn customer relations but other than that, it was a nice trip.

Overpriced for what it is. Riu is a middle category resort not luxury. It was the most expensive all inclusive resort at the time we booked it. And it shouldn’t have been. Hotel is old but clean and well maintained. When we checked in to our room we saw a jacuzzi on the balcony area but it was very dirty. I called front desk to have someone clean it so we can use it but I was told that the jacuzzis don’t work that’s why they don’t clean them because they can’t be used. Such a bumper that they cannot fix them so guests can actually enjoy what they are paying for. Riu is a big popular chain for all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean area therefore it was very busy. Buffet restaurant will always be crowded. The pool is too small for the amount of rooms this hotel has and specially if it’s on high occupancy. The area on the beach is not small but what was really disappointing is that they let people separate the umbrellas with pool towels and leave them unattended for many hours. We would get to the beach at about 8am not to find any umbrella available, most of them would have no people in there just pool towels in the chairs. We thought people probably get there early to put their towels and then go to have breakfast or do something else. So the last day of our stay I got to the beach at 7.15am hoping to get an empty umbrella and then go have breakfast but then to my disappointment I didn’t find any available! Very disappointed! Hotel doesn’t have a medical topic either very bad

When we checked in we had 2 adults and 2 kids as per our Expedia itinerary but this hotel considers a kid over 12 years to be an adult and wanted to see 3 adults and 1 kid on our itinerary. They charged us $500 more for the one kid to be an adult for 3.5 days of stay we paid $3,500 !! Two hours delay in checkin. Finally got into the room after 12 hours of travel and the room was dirty and unkempt, didn’t even have the energy to get them to change the room for us. So we just spent most of the time outside. It’s an outdated property looking for major upgrades and updates to everything.

We needed to use the stairs every day as one out of the 2 elevators was not working! You need to have better plan in making reservations for the other restaurants!!! You can’t leave it to first come first served!! This is my 3rd stay in 3 years but next time, I’m considering a change.

My only issue with the resort is that during a rare, major rain storm the bottom part of our room was flooded with 2 inches of rain water coming in through the sliders. The water ruined 3 pairs of shoes. When we alerted the front desk they said they would send someone right up, we went to lunch and returned to the room and no one came. We went down to the front desk and they said they alerted the house keeping staff and would check on it. I requested another room and reimbursement of the shoes and the person at the desk said " we don't do that". I have to say that when the house keeping team got there they cleaned everything like nothing happened, expect our shoes were ruined. Other then that we enjoyed the resort, and are continuing to try to get reimbursed for our shoes.
