I have been to several Riu properties over the years , specifically in Mexico! By far this property was not one that I would be back! Food specially lunch was very poor and the quality was not good! Dinners at the restaurant was good! Our room had ocean view but next to it was view of construction!!! Overall I would give this property 3 rating!

Lots of staff, so no waiting. First trip for my wife and I in over 4 years, so we picked a 4.5 star adults only resort. RIU Elite Class was expensive, but worth it in our opinion given the access to top shelf liquor and other amenities. We tried all of the specialty restaurants and the food was great at all. Unfortunately I got food poisoning at the Krystal fusion restaurant on our 4th night. My wife and I had the same main course and dessert, but the starters were different— I had the lobster steak tartar and cream filled smoked salmon. One of those did it to me as a few hours later I spent the night running between the bed and the bathroom. My wife was fine. I spent the next 36 hours in bed and 2 more days to fully recover, which unfortunately ruined the rest of my week long vacation. Next time I’ll learn not to trust near-raw seafood in a hot country.

This resort is perfectly placed on the beach. Lots to do on the resort with additional things to do within walking distance of the resort. Beach and pool were great.
