Staff was friendly, and accommodating. Beds were very comfortable, room was clean and had plenty of towels. Furnishings were sufficient. Breakfast was okay, probably better if you get up at 6, than 8 or 9. Parking was not great, since they were performing maintenance on building and several spots near front entrance were roped off. Was especially difficult when returning late at night.

Excellent staff

Front desk service was excellent, above and beyond. Had an issue with my room keys, which turned out to be user error on my part, front desk very patiently went up to my room and showed me the correct method. My only complaints were that the AC in my room didn't seem to keep up and the mattress was very soft for my taste but otherwise a good place to stay. Room was very clean. Coffee in the lobby was very good and readily available.

Comfortable, but Customer Service is Lacking

I had spoken with a hotel representative a few days before our family trip about having an early check-in. She could not guarantee it but encouraged me to show up when we arrived into town and we could posssibly get in. Our trip was delayed because of heavy traffic, so we arrived only 30 minutes ahead of regular check-in. We had traveled for over 8 hours and were tired and needed to freshen up. When I approached the desk to see if we could get into the room early to get ready for the baby shower we had come to town for, I was told we could not check in early [as she pointed to a family sitting in the lobby and said they had been waiting for over a hour]. I felt this person had no front desk customer service personality. Her tone was rude and belittling to us and to the family waiting. Once we were able to get checked in around 8 PM...after the party...we found the room to be comfortable, and the buffet in the morning was sufficient. It was noisy in the hotel but once we were asleep, we didn't hear the noise. Based on our experience, we probably would not choose this hotel in the future.

Hotel has been well cared for; it really shows in the attention detail of even painting small trim pieces in the drive way. All staff and hired contractors working outside were very friendly and helpful. The whole facility is kept clean to a high standard. There are plenty of dining and shopping options around, many of which are less than a half mile walk on designated sidewalks. The average price per night during my first week of April stay was very reasonable and included a decent continental breakfast and coffee. I would definitely stay here again. The price alone compared to nearby same/similar hotels would justify it.

My husband and I travel back and forth to Newport News for doctor appointments. The facility is comfortable, safe, and conveniently located to everything we need. After our first stay, Amy, the wonderful person at the desk not only remembered my name but has everything ready for a quick, efficient check-in. Doing a job dealing with such a variety of people can be difficult at best but she has a constant smile, a welcoming hello for everyone and a never ending effort to provide guests with anything they may need to make their stay more comfortable. This wonderful woman deserves much of the credit for the success of this facility.
