I recently stayed at The Newport, harbor hotel and Marina, and it was an experience I would not want to repeat. From the moment I checked in, the issues started piling up. First off, the floors in my room were dirty. I had to ask twice for them to be cleaned, but even after the second request, they were still far from acceptable. It was clear that the cleaning staff either didn't do a thorough job or just didn't care. The bathroom was another disappointment. It reeked of mildew, which made using the facilities an unpleasant experience. It was clear that the ventilation or cleaning routines were either neglected or non-existent. To make matters worse, I was hit with an unexpected charge for extra parking. I was initially told by the hotel staff that I could stay in my spot until 1 PM without any additional fees. However, when I went to check out, I was informed that I had to pay for the extra time. This lack of consistency and communication was incredibly frustrating and felt like a scam to squeeze out more money from guests. Overall, my stay at The Newport, harbor hotel and Marina was far from satisfactory. With dirty floors, a mildew-stinking bathroom, and deceptive parking charges, I cannot recommend this hotel. There are plenty of other options out there that offer better cleanliness and customer service.

The Hotel Bar was not open even the restaurant. Our room did not have a luggage holder, we had to ask for. There were no drinking utensils in the room, the tub drain we so slow you were standing in four inches of bath water when you were down showering. The air conditioner’s filter was up out of the holder and the cover for the controls was broken and missing. If it was not for the location of the hotel which was perfect I would probably look at another hotel in the future.

Great location, central to everything you want to start with in Newport. Staff is friendly, rooms were spacious, and the marina was beautiful. We didn’t try the restaurant because we were always out, and they only had one-person kayaks (I couldn’t go because I have a weak shoulder and need a second person), but it wasn’t an issue. There’s plenty else to do and we were very happy with our stay.
