Hotel was nice and clean. Great location! A bit overpriced and lacking any reasonable interior facade / areas to enjoy indoors in the historic building. Experience was ruined by damage caused to our car in hotel’s parking lot ( that was in their suites building which had a fairly run down exterior facade) due to a structural fault which hotel had failed to notice and fix. I have registered a complaint, as I was asked to do: so far have not received any acknowledgment or apology from the hotel, which is a bit disappointing!

Location of the hotel was about a ten minute drive to Newport center. Checkin process was ridiculous. Checkin on the booking indicated after 4pm. We arrived around 420pm and told our room was cleaned but waiting for an inspection. I waited about an hour with my 2 year old (and 6 months pregnant) and received no updates from the front desk. During this time- front desk ladies made a very snarky comment about a guests amenity inquiry which was very unprofessional. I checked in after an hour and was told the room was still waiting on an inspection and she would call someone for an update. I received no followup. Informed front desk We had a 530 dinner reservation so ended up leaving. From the time we left to the time we returned to the hotel- around 8pm- I still had received zero updates on the status of our room. No phone call or text. Our room was what was advertised-2 queen beds- nothing fancy. We noticed the bathroom floor was still dirty and the sink had sand in it ( even after a so called inspection). One of the beds had sheets that looked like mold was growing on it. Carpet under/behind nightstand was not vacuumed or tended to. Towels were thin. No black out curtains. I could see the hallway lights filtering through the door threshold. Loud street noise. Free breakfast was “grab and go” continental style- a disappointment. Overall, basic hotel that needs improving on overall customer service. We will not be returning. This hotel was not worth what we paid for.

This property is not as it may seem in the pictures and website. The website and pictures are very nicely done, but in reality it does not depict the actual experience of the hotel. I would definitely not recommend it. It is a glorified motel at best. The staff was overwhelmed, not friendly or helpful. No one answered the front desk phone for over 30 mins. I had to walk downstairs to ask a question. The facilities are just average at best. The sheets had holes in them, the bathroom was not clean, and very small. It looks as if this is a beach property from the pictures, but they just “rent” you foldable chairs from behind the front desk that you need to carry with you across the street to the beach. For the price, which was very expensive…I would suggest finding another property. The area is nice, and close to the entrance of the cliff walk and not a bad drive to the downtown Newport area. Overall, do not make the same mistake that I did after looking at the pictures and the property website.

This spot was a good location if you want to spend time at the beach. It was also a quick uber ride/drive to Newport. We stayed in the main building where you check in and it was definitely old feeling. The room was nice and had been updated recently. Breakfast was great! The rooftop patio/hot tub was great for sunsets! Overall, a nice hotel, but a bit expensive for what it was.

Overall our stay at the property was great, the front desk staff was the best, very friendly and helpful. The location is great with easy parking and such a great spot to walk to different sites. The hotel is older so it feels a little older which I don’t mind, my only issue was that the cleaning staff didn’t seem to clean the rooms well. Some days our room wasn’t cleaned at all and we had to ask for new towels. Other than that, I love everything else about the hotel and would definitely stay here again.

For a pricey resort with extra resort fee, it was mediocre. Stayed in main building. The room was fine; when we finally gained access @ 3:30. The products in shower were not filled. Had to ask for towels, only two in room for 2 night stay. Walls are paper thin, and you can hear conversation in next room. No smoke detector in room. Sketchy elevator. Only one ice machine worked. Roof hot tub nice with limited seating, so that was disappointing. Pool is postage stamp size and first attempt it was closed for a chemical change and second attempt it was occupied by unaccompanied kids. Attached bar advertised opened till 10, yet closed at 9 making our free complementary drink coupons worthless. During inquiry was told establishment was separate even though promoted as together. Nothing could be done to compensate. Was beautiful weather and beach just across street. But water was experiencing red tide and smelled. Ample parking on property. Easy uber rides down to wharf area. Love Newport, but would stay elsewhere next time.

The lady (Anita) at the front desk on check in was the rudest person we have ever encountered. Definitely not a good first impression to give when people are excited to check in and enjoy vacation. The rooms smelled like a porta-potty and the bed was so uncomfortable we left with major back pain and almost decided to end our trip early. Best part of this place is the location right on the water, but we will never stay here again or recommend to anyone.

This was exactly what we were looking for and we had an amazing time. The beach across the street was clean and quiet. Our ocean view room was beautiful. Perfect continental breakfast and friendly staff…We can’t wait to book our next visit!

The rooms are really good, next to the beach, small pool that was really nice. However, the facilities that I thought I was paying weren’t there: beach chairs and Umbrellas. They are only available for some guests, we arrived a day before there weren’t any umbrellas for the next day already! We had to stand at the beach in full sun, and we paid for the amenities!!!! Also the breakfast style grab and go was below our expectations. Overall it was a good experience, great location, but a little expensive for what it offers.
