Great location for all bars and restaurants with the station opposite. It has a small car park which is £10 per day. Hotel is lovely and staff are welcoming. Has its own bar and restaurant. We stayed in a standard double room on 4th floor overlooking the station. Decor was nice but cleaning was missing in places especially the bathroom. Looked like it had been refurbished but finishing off was poor with paint splashes on tired woodwork. Bathroom had a tiny sink with a tap that hardly hung over the basin so difficult to use. Room was extreamly hot as had no aircon but if you opened windows at night it was difficult to sleep due to traffic and partying outside. Breakfast is buffet style and was quoted at £14.95 but when we went for breakfast we were told it had gone up that day to £19.95! When we complained they dropped it to £10! Bar was supposed to close at 1am but clised at 10.30pm on a Saturday night... However we really enjoyed our stay and will come back again but maybe upgrade to a junior suite with aircon!

County hotel is in a position, old looks add to the experience. Booked with a city view, 5th floor you could just see the top of central station. Floor boards need attention, bed was old with springs broken. £50 deposit required for each person per night incase of breakages. Good position was the best thing about this hotel.

Fantastic stay got no issues. Only thing I would say is maybe the carpet in the city rooms need new as it’s very old and stained but didn’t affect our stay. Would defo stay again

The check in did seem overly lengthy considering i had already paid for the room. The hot breakfast food wasnt regularly refilled. But waiting & bar staff all friendly. Overall i would recommend this hotel, very handy for train station. The Hudson bar is also good.

Breakfast was beautiful.
The hotel was in lovely condition for its age. The fan in the room was appreciated as it was very hot in the room. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend and would stay again. Great location.
