Excellent service at reception got checked in earlier than should have.
Bar didn't open till 4 just wanted to chill for a pint but could have went across road to sister hotel. Not a problem. Area at back of hotel for parking was spot on its just a pitty about other properties leaving there bins full and rubbish on ground..
Room was perfect roasting great smart tv and shower fits 2 😉.
Definitely stay again.

Hotel was okay. But but a noisy person/couple kept us awake at night & started banging about & pacing up & down the room at 5.30 in the morning.
Good value for money and very handy for visiting our daughter who is studying and University.
It can be very lively at night due to the number of bars near by catering for students, however it is done by 1130 and didn’t bother us even though our room happened to be on the front above the bar.
The bathroom needed the silicone sealing to be redone by a professional as currently it is a terrible state. Also the cleaning in the bathroom was not up to standard.
Lovely hotel, friendly staff. It's above a bar but there was no noise. Great location. Second time I stayed here - 1st room was a standard double and it was "snug" but fine for me on my own. This time I stayed in a superior and it was massive - have requested the same room when I go back for my 3rd stay in one month's time! Both bathrooms seemed to have been newly refurbished. The pillows are a bit thin and hard so next time I'll chuck my pillows from home in the car with me!
A good experience as usual having stayed here many times before.
Excellent location and good size superior room.

Liked: Staff & service
Wonderful staff. I don’t know when the windows were last cleaned. Dead flies and cobwebs. Torn net curtains and loud noice from the bar until 11pm
The saving grace was the wonderful staff and the excellent restaurant
Weird that reception and breakfast is at the Cairn (we ended up in the Carlton) but otherwise enjoyable stay. Breakfast really good, bed comfy and shower really good
So this trip threw me a little curve ball so I’ll explain.
I wasn’t familiar with the area, I was working in a local clinic and so chose the hotel based on some reviews and proximity to the venue I needed to get to.
Well brace yourselves
The hotel itself was lovely, the staff were friendly and helpful I ended up staying at the Clayton hotel which was over the road.
Totally fine.
Parking was a bit annoying lots of bins in the way but got a space so happy days.
The hotel itself was nice
Tidy
Clean
The bed was actually really comfy
Little sachets of Nescafé and tea a kettle and fridge.
Somewhere to hang clothes and a desk for working all great!
Bathroom was lovely great pressured shower
Nice smelling bath stuff
Clean fluffy towels
The room was quite hot
I opened the window which helped this.
So im working away on my computer .
Start to wind down…
Then boom
The students!
Now I knew I was above a bar, so my spider senses did tell me I was I for a roudy night.
I did also see signs for ear plugs and naively thought it might have been for the propose of being on a main road .
I was so wrong
It was for the 10-2am wildlings of the north
The avalanche of students getting absolutely mangled playing drinking games
I don’t think the full moon helped.
wow
Nothing prepared me for the noise
I mean they weren’t had they were clearly having a great time. It was just in that moment the ear plugs would have been ideal.
Fortunately I had my headphones
But wouldn’t stay again
