Lovely, affordable hotel with unfortunate location
Apart from the location, which made it unsafe for me to walk the mile from the subway station (Carroll St) over the interstate pedestrian bridge back to the hotel at night, the hotel and its staff was great. The complimentary breakfast was the best I've ever seen and the front desk staff was very kind and helpful, and property/room very clean.

Was leaving on a cruise in the AM. Room was clean Recommendation for loval pizza was great. Let's talk about this breakfast they offered......outrageous! Outstanding!!! It was made with love & pride by the staff - you can taste the LOVE!!!

Being put in a basement room right next to the ‘canteen’ and being woken up by guests yelling on their phones at 7.30am as they waited to go in for breakfast was not what I expect from a $450 a night room.

The hotel was very clean, and the gentleman who checked me in was friendly. Now the front desk clerk that came on after him, was slightly rude, didn't greet me at the counter, and then tried to act as if she didn't hear me. I also didn't care for the fact that there was no microwave in the building, so I was unable to eat my food I purchased in the city. And let's be clear when I visit NY, I'm definitely eating. And breakfast is offered, which was really good.But the food attendant, was really taking her job to serious. All tables were full with guest, I asked could I take to the room, was told no, just have a seat with strangers. I proceeded to take to my room , and the food attendant, was loud and ran m we down, even came in my room behind me. My husband put her out of the room in his underwear. And at checkout there's another $27 amenities fee. I can't say I don't recommend, but I'll never come back.

The tap was dripping in the bathroom. The milk was sour at breakfast, the eggs and hash browns were inedible and the oatmeal was cold. The area feels unsafe as there are a lot of projects although I did jog outside alone when still dark in then morning as a small woman and was fine. The biggest complaint is that we were charged almost $600 for this hotel, which was one of the least nice I have stayed at! It was over $600 on their website.
