Favorite spot to stay in NYC

We go out of our way to book the Belvedere every time we visit for Broadway. It is a reasonable price, perfect location, reliable cleanliness and comfort. Bonus points are that some upper rooms have view of NYE ball. Only minor drawback is slow, small elevators, but it never bothers us, just have patience. It is really a very good place to call our NYC home base.

This was our second stay at The Belvedere. This time we got a complimentary upgrade to a superior room, which was a lovely surprise at check-in. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. We were in town for two Broadway shows and the hotel is convenient to the theater district, Times Square, restaurants and many attractions. It is far enough from Times Square to be quiet, but still within walking distance. We will stay again!

Hotel is extremely outdated for the price. Room was not clean, and lamps and TV were broken. Bed was uncomfortable, noisy and super hard. The only good thing about the hotel was the location, nothing more than that. I’m really not a picky person, but it is frustrating the price you pay for having zero comfort! I would not recommend, there were newer hotel for $10 more, we trusted the location and that the hotel was at least good for the 3 and half stars in Expedia and it was very disappointing.

The location of the property is ideal. Broadway and Off Broadway theaters, Times Square, restaurants, shops, and subway station are just a short walk away. There is no problem with noise, bright lights and craziness around the hotel, which is located within a residential neighborhood, across the street from a public school. We strongly preferred this hotel to those located in Times Square.
