Overall a great stay! Front desk agent( I think her name was Jordan) was great!! Give her a raise! Only thing that was eh was a rude women employee, presumably manager on the roof top bar around 11pm 1/18. We were told by the desk that the bar would be open later as it was busy. We were already on top floor so we walked upstairs via stairs, opened the door and an alarm went off. It completely scared us! She yelled at us in front of everyone “What do you think you’re doing!”. Gave two girls with already severe anxiety, panic attacks for an hour, but besides that we had a great time!

Great choice in the big apple

All the employees were super helpful and friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. Hotel was a convenient location for transit, and the rooftop space had great views.

The shelburne was such a great stay. The staff was super friendly and kind. There was a couple of burn marks in the carpet and left over garbage from the previous stay. But other than that it was great!

Great place for what it was had some dirt around the room but the staff cleaned it up promptly. Also was charged 90 dollars for “facility fees” which was so unnecessary since we barely were at the hotel anyways and we had no option to opt out of the payment. Pros: very spacious and great location.

Excellent for people, not so much for dogs

Staff were above and beyond friendly and helpful! We went to both restaurants and both were excellent, with terrific atmosphere. One complaint, and this is possibly a complaint about New York and not the hotel itself--there is NOWHERE for dogs to do their business, unless you count a small space by a tree facing the street (which proved scary for my two dogs). Even the nearby parks were notably dog UNfriendly. If this matters to you, investigate a bit before booking. That said, we had a wonderful stay and I would definitely stay here again if I wasn't bringing them along.

Overall we enjoyed our visit. The shower was amazing, however the bathroom was cold with wind and cold air coming through the closed window in it. The rest of the room was kept at what ever temperature we set it for which was really nice. My only other complaint is around parking. The website indicates there is self parking but we couldn't find it. We ended up having to do valet parking which is considerably more expensive. Some sort of signage or further information on where to find the self parking would be helpful to add to the website. Again, overall we enjoyed our stay and the staff was wonderful.

Smiles all around

We checked in with no problems, but later on a group checked in across the hallway and was very, very loud. Clearly here to party, propping open their door and blasting music. Even the chambermaid in the hallway suggested I call the desk. Then I went downstairs and spoke with the nicest, most professsional person who happily changed our room to a quiet, spacious and beautiful one. I never speak up when things like this happen. We travel often and noise is inevitable, but this was bad. Luis was smiling and pleasant, he really took care of us and saw I wasn't happy. This is hotel and its staff are the consumate professionals and they all deserve a bonus. Luis especially!!! We saw him earlier handle a persistent, tough customer with grace and ease. Then later we decided to check out the rooftop bar, which is so beautiful. A wonderful smile greeted us again from the friendly bartender who suggested we eat there for dinner, Vintage Green. The hostess, lovely, polite and sincere (and smiling) got us a nice table. Food was yummy and it was a really enjoyable evening. Anna, our server was excellent too. Rooms are well appointed, comfortable, spacious and with an awesome view of The Empire State Building. We will definitely return to NYC and stay here again!
