We were surprised by the quality of service and of the room for the price we paid. The room was spacious, old fashioned in the look but well decorated and comfortable. The lobby is very welcoming with a restaurant and a bar well decorated. Almost a European look. We will gladly return because the staff was also super friendly and did their best to please us, a memorable experience. Also the location is perfect and very safe. Bravo, great stay!

The man at reception was extremely kind and welcoming. The beds were comfortable and we appreciated the large bathroom, though the water pressure was a bit lacking. It was quiet and we loved the general ambiance. Great, great location and easy parking.

Disappointed!

When we arrived, I didn't care for the room we were assigned (floor had not seen polyurethane in years, bathroom was small, room had a very small desk. (Pictures on a website can be deceiving). I went to the front desk, without yelling, or raising my voice. I explained the situation. The manager was called over. When he came over, he didn't say, "How may I help you?" He shrugged his shoulders, nodded his head as an indication for me to start talking. I explained the situation and he said: "You are telling me this, why? Just to tell me or you want me to do something about it?" At that point an employee (I don't know his name, who was VERY nice) told the manager about another room, which he showed me and we took. While the room itself was not larger, the bathroom, the floor and the desk in the room were better. I asked for a 'wake up' call, that would be in addition to setting the alarm on my phone. I was told by one of the female night shift employees: "We don't do wake up calls!" A guest asked for a corkscrew to open a wine bottle. She was handed one and told she had to open the bottle, there in the lobby. She couldn't take the opener to her room An older female guest inquired about parking. She was handed a map, told to scan the QR code and was given no help beyond that by the female night shift employee. No refrigerator in the room either. I understand this is a boutique hotel, but a positive personality and a 'warm' attitude go a long way.

Their marketing team gets an A+ and their staff is great. Unfortunately we were taken in by the photos online and regret our stay there. Rooms are tiny and the bathroom was so small it could barely fit one person at a time. Television never worked all week. No in room refrigerator or coffee maker. Telephone in the room would light up so brightly at night it would wake you up so we had to cover it with a towel. Air conditioner would constantly shut off and the room would get very warm although it’s saving grace was that it was so loud when it was working that it would almost drown out the noise outside the building at night. People Buy People and the Life Team is Amazing!

The hotel has a great location, a nice vibe and comfy stylish rooms. I really enjoyed my stay and thought the value was exceptional. All that is great, but the team at the hotel (and not a large team) were all just lovely and sincere. Chris on the desk on my check in was holding down the fort when colleagues called out, but he had it under control and had a super sense of humor. I'll be back.

Life hotel is perfect for a visit to New York. Situated 1 block from Empire State, 5 minute walk to Macys or Maddison Square Gardens.Close to 5th avenue and Times square about 12 minute walk. Plus several subways near by i.e. Penn Station and Herald Square making it so well situated to get around New York. Like most US hotels breakfast not included but you do get 15% voucher off for breakfast not sure if this is for once or whole duration of stay. You are also supposed to get voucher each day for free tea and coffee in the morning. We only got 1st day but as we didnt like the tea or coffee on 1st day didnt enquire why we didnt get subsequent vouchers. Neither of our rooms had a view, well you just had a view of a brick wall and a fire escape. But that said staff friendly and helpful, rooms met our needs though would have preferred a firmer matress but accept thats personal choice

Room was pleasant, comfortable bed, nice bathroom, good location, nice restaurants, but noise of street was too loud in room. No staff to help you bring in your suitcases or take them up to your room. No morning wake up call. Room phone didn't work. Some lights didn't work, some light bulbs were dimming. No complimentary water.

My worst experience ever. One small window overlooking a dark and dirty alley full of garbage. Room so small you could barely move around and there was no space for the luggage. Staff very rude and unhelpful.

Uncomfortable & inconvenient stay. A fire alarm went off daily & the front deck was unhelpful. Interrupted meeting & sleep because of it. 7th floor had a disturbing odor. Despite my communication with the staff they didn’t seem as if they had any resolutions or wanted to assist resolving. I felt as if I was both them. Very disappointed
