Always construction in New York so surrounding buildings may have scaffolding up. Essex was a great stay and comfortable. Nice view of the park and staff were great. I felt it was elegant but not too posh. Would go again.

The location was the best! Close to shopping, food, Central Park etc. They made our stay very pleasant. The only exception was that they didn’t have a breakfast cafe. They also let us borrow a crib for the baby. Just outstanding!

When our cab dropped us off no one helped us with our bags so that was a bit of a shock with the price of the hotel. Check in was quick and they had our room ready early which was nice and changed my attitude. The check in associate was also very friendly. Our room had a view of the building next door which was a letdown but was large and roomy for our family of three. Beds were comfortable but would have enjoyed at least a queen not a double bed for my husband and I. Bathroom was a great size. They had complimentary bottled water in the lobby each night we returned which was nice. Overall friendly service and cozy hotel with a convenient location to lots of activities.
