Hotel Stanford turned out to be the perfect NYC hotel. It is centrally located with excellent access to theater and opera. This will certainly become my go-to hotel for future visits to the city.
My son and I stayed at a hotel for 5 days. On the first night, the heater in our room was broken, so the hotel moved us to a different room. The problem started after we switched rooms. My son began scratching his body because he felt itchy, and by the fourth day, his itching became so severe that we filed a complaint. The hotel upgraded us to another room, but moving rooms three times during our stay was exhausting.
The second room seemed to have caused my son’s condition, and we had a really hard time because of it. When I asked for a refund, the hotel refused, claiming that it was not a significant issue. The general manager was supposedly in an important meeting and was unavailable to address our concerns.
Because of my son's itching, two days of our New York trip were ruined. We had to spend extra money on disinfectants and anti-itch medicine, and the entire experience was horrible. We left on our return flight without receiving any compensation, making this an awful travel experience.
The location is perfect for Broadway shows or concerts at Lincoln Center. Subway is right there so it’s easy to get everywhere.
Although noisy outside, it’s quiet inside the hotel.
It’s great that breakfast is provided. It’s modest but sufficient and saves time and money if you want to get out and about.
They have a nice wine bar although we didn’t go.
Small room but we weren’t in it very much so didn’t care. Everything is clean and up to date.
Would stay there again!
Front desk was super nice and informative. Got a call night before to check if I wanted a cab at checkout. Would come back here again based on location and friendliness of staff
Quick check-in and it was nice that they had coupon options for area restaurants.

For sure Im going back. Great location. Room is outdated but clean which I like the most. Breakfast was ok.Staff are very nice especially Leanne in the front desk.
This is an older but well krot property close to Penn Station and Madison Square Garden. There is a small gym in the basement and wine bar/breakfast on the second floor with a microwave. I stay here everytime I come to NYC.
Outstanding,obliging employees. All are professional & courteous. Very good breakfast with attentive service. Clean hotel.Stellar location. A very special shout-out to:Akash, Suriya, Ellie, Peemba, & wonderful gentlemen who open doors when guests leave & arrive. A nice welcoming touch. Stanford Hotel will continue to be successful as it offers consistent attention to guests. A business is only as good as the employees that are hired.
