There were alot of mixed reviews, but I was glad we booked! We are a family of 5 who came to see NYC for the first time, we were able to walk to many tourist attactions, room was as pictured, two double beds and small bed by window was plenty, was pleasantly surprised that beds were made daily, many places will just empty garbage! staff helpful and friendly, cant beat a continental breakfast to start your day! Fees were appropriate for stay. This place was priced well considering you are in the heart of everything!

Small, Cramped & Dates

I stayed here from March 17-20, and overall, it wasn’t great. The rooms are very small, the bed was too soft, and the carpets—especially in the lift—were quite dirty. The staff were fine, but when I pointed out that the beers in the minibar were past their ‘best before’ date, nothing was done. Breakfast was just okay—cereal and bagels, but no hot options. However, the location is ideal for Times Square. Honestly, I’d recommend spending a little more for a better stay elsewhere.

The front desk attendants have been nothing but kind to us (my friends) for a birthday celebration. The room was exactly like the picture and it was very quiet. We didn’t know there was a balcony so that was a lovely surprise, overall i highly recommend staying in that specific room because it is absolutely flawless.

City Club will be my first choice for any future stays in New York City - mins to Times Square, the theater district and Bryant Park. The rooms had everything a traveled needs. Bathroom was very spacious and hidden closets created more space in the room. The staff was very friendly - they truly made my stay very enjoyable.

I was charged for the use of the mini bar (this was found to have been used on check in, half bottles etc) I called reception to inform them straight away, I was assured everything would be ok and I would not be charged. I reinforced the reception on check out and was assured this would not be charged, however on return to the uk I was charged £80. I have contacted the hotel 6 times and been ignored every one (both direct and via Expedia) so disappointing because I loved the staff and the room, it’s put such a dampener on my stay, I think it may be a scam, you will be better off staying in a better hotel and spending that extra yourself as I’ve lost that and received nothing in return other than an average hotel in a less appealing street. I would not recommend this hotel, purely on the lack of after care, 6 messages with no reply is a joke

Basically no internet

Everything seemed a little pokey and run down, though I wasn’t surprised at this price for this location. The real pain was that the WiFi connection was terrible, and since there wasn’t good cell reception in my room I basically couldn’t use my computer except in the lounge, where I wound up having to do a zoom meeting in public.

While this property needs a refresh, the location is excellent, and the staff top notch. Elevator carpet needs to be cleaned daily or replaced, runner in the lobby to cover the cracked marble, chipped and wobbly furniture attended to, draperies and dirty liners replaced. And WIFI improved, the staff was amazing and overall beds were comfortable our stay was pleasant.

No working sink

I'm still waiting for resolution on this from City Club or Hotels.com. When I checked into my room at 6:30PM, the faucet was running non-stop. I could not fully shut it off. At 7PM, when I left for a show, I asked the front desk staff to attend to it (as it was also a noisy/inconsistent dripping). At 11PM, when I returned, it was not fixed. The bellhop came into the room and said the only option was to turn off water to the sink (or, to leave it dripping). The front desk staff could not give me another room until someone checked out in the morning, so I was told that I had to deal with not having a sink in the bathroom until morning at the earliest. The room was run down--loose tiles in the bathrooms, old stains on the daybed and carpet, etc--but the bed itself (linens and mattress) seemed clean and fine. I would urge folks to not book this hotel non-refundable through a third-party option, which is limiting my ability for recourse. I did think that having access to a fully working bathroom was a necessity, and the hotel was not able to provide me with a new room (said they were sold out) but only that they could send someone to turn water on/off as I needed to use the sink. I had given the hotel about 4 hours to attend to the issue and/or help me find another solution. Instead, I had to find another hotel room after 11PM at night. If you want to take the chances on this hotel, do not do it as a non-refundable or third-party option.
