The hotel was centrally located to several landmarks. The breakfast, although was just carbs, was good. I wish the breakfast started earlier than 8am since we had lots of places to visit.

This is a great hotel to stay at while in NYC. Great price compared to other hotels. Mere steps to subway. Sure others say it’s a bit dated and could use an update but if you value cleanliness, convinces and friendliness over spanky new (which doesn’t impress me) then this is the place for you. This is a small hotel, staff were soooo friendly and helpful, felt more like family. Rooms were very clean. Morning breakfast simple(bagels, pastry, muffins and coffee) but sufficient. We’ve travelled all over the world and I would highly recommend this hotel.

We would stay again
Front desk was great. Room - bathroom had a leaky faucet and the bed was a futon mattress. Thankfully we only stayed 1 night. The room was very clean. Great location for the purpose of our trip for the price.

The staff was very nice and personable. The problem is the condition and ammenities of the room (I can only refer to the room i had). The king size bed only had two very thin sheets, 2 flat as pancake pillows and a matress we decided most resembled a wobbly jello mold left on a picnic table on a hot summer afternoon. No fridge or microwave either. After tossing and turning for hours we checked out early and caught an earlier train home. Again, not knocking staff, just really uncomfortable. Yeah i know its nyc blah blah, but it was a tough stay.

This hotel is a great budget option for exploring New York. Room was nice and well stocked, the Chelsea area is great and we walked to lots of the sights and used it as a base.

This was the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on. I don’t know how I would have been able to do more than the two nights we booked. We were able to request extra pillows which helped. Clean. Quiet. Included breakfast was decent. Safe area. Right next to the 1 line. Very close to both some fast food chains and some very nice restaurants on 7th. Two stops from Penn Station. Shower was hot with great water pressure. Very very basic room but great location right on edge of Chelsea.

I was misled by so many mistaken reviews that were for the Hotel Chelsea, NOT the Chelsea Savoy Hotel. Otherwise I might not have stayed here. Everything was . . . fine. The rooms needs serious updating. Everything is old and outdated. The beds were horrendously uncomfortable and gave me back pain after two nights, in addition to being very loud and squeaky with any movement. The super flat pillows also made my neck hurt. The bathroom was fine, and the size of the room was decent. The AC worked well. Housekeeping woke us up both mornings, including the morning of check out, which is odd. The front desk staff was nice. Overall it was fine, but the bed/pillows and being woken up early were a real turn off so we won't be staying here again.

We recently stayed for two nights and were pleased. Room size was very generous for Manhattan. The staff is great. The bagels and coffee in the morning are a nice treat. Only thing that we could recommend is to replace the carpet … in our 4th floor room the carpet was very stained and gross. When the door was ajar to a room across the hall, we noticed that room had new carpet and it looked great. I would stay here again.
