Budget Friendly Perfection!

This is a no frills hotel in the middle of "EVERYTHING" what they lack in amenities, they make up in courtesy and excellent service. Dan the front desk manager was kind and expedited my check-in. The room and bathroom were clean. Can't really ask for much more from a budget friendly hotel, that's stones throw from the city's best attractions!

Staff was super helpful & friendly. The room was spotless. The shared bathroom was spotless- I did have my reserves about staying with the shared bathroom and I can say with would definitely stay there again!

Awful Property

The shared bathrooms was a real lowlight. Two bathrooms per floor. The street noise kept us up at night. No night tables. I have stayed in hotels a couple of thousand nights. The Americana was the worst ever!

The front desk guy was awesome! He was very nice and let us check in early so we could get our stuff put away to explore NYC. We also got upgraded to a room with bigger beds and a private bathroom. We are having a great time here!!

It’s pretty loud due to the location but overall clean and VERY convenient. 10 minute walk from times square, tons of eating options all night on the street, etc.

The rooms are very small. The bathrooms are shared bathrooms, so you have to wait in line if you want to shower or use the restroom. The AC did not work, so it was unreasonably hot. The bedsheets were dirty. You can hear anyone that comes in and out. Both nights we stayed I slept maybe 3 hours due to people next door being extremely loud. Over all, great location. We almost rented a hotel at the Hilton down the street, we’d atleast have working AC and a shower to ourselves. I will not be returning next year.

Odd Bathroom Situation

You NEED to have bathrooms INSIDE of the rooms, not in the hallway. This was not advertised as such.
