Under construction, listing way outdated

My husband and I were visiting New Orleans for one night for a concert. We are frequent visitors to the city and usually stay at Harrahs/Caesars but we decided to check out other hotels closer to the concert venue. Found the Troubadour’s listing on Hotels.com and it checked all of our needs. It was close to the venue, looked clean and nice from the photos we saw , it was budget friendly, and the description mentioned a roof top bar. What the description fails to mention is that the Troubadour is under construction. The noise was overwhelming. The roof top bar closed permanently. Had been for months. The one good thing I can say is about the staff at the hotel. They were great. Very courteous and kind and tried making our stay as pleasant as it could be given the circumstance. The information provided from Hotels.com about the hotel was outdated and definitely incorrect. It was incredibly misleading and dishonest.

The rooms were clean and beautiful. It looked like the hotel had been newly remodeled in a very beautiful manner,. Not all the amenities were complete, but the staff was so accommodating it made up for the lack of some of the amenities. Most of the time you’re gone from the hotel so you wouldn’t use them anyway. The gym is state of the art and look like people used it a lot. I know once it’s finally complete. It will be a beautiful hotel. The location is perfect for most things in on Canal and in the French Quarter.

Smelled moldy. TV couldn’t turn on. Elevators scary, noisy and person limit. No services, restaurant, bar, 17th floor -all closed. Bed uncomfortable. Desk personnel were nice though. Would not stay here again.

One of the best experiences I ever had staying in a Hotel. This hotel is just minutes of many dinning places, it's a clean property and no strangers wondering around. Rooms are well maintained with service running everyday. The stall at the front office, big up to all of you.

I would not stay at the Troubadour again, and would not recommend it to anyone. i let the front desk know my flight would be late. When i got there the entire building was pitch dark. There was no sign to tell me where to even enter. I finally figured out how to get in and there was nobody there. After waiting a few minutes someone came out and must have called the night clerk. She had been sleeping it looked like. She was very rude and didnt explain anything to me. The advertisement said there was a rooftop lounge. Im there sunday thru thursday. The lounge is open friday and saturday. The ad said, restaurant, bar and free breakfast. NOTHING! There was no food. Not even the breakfast. Im disabled and had to walk somewhere to eat. I paid a lot of money for a convenient restaurant, bar, lounge and breakfast and got NOTHING. People were up every night until well after 2-3:00 yelling to each other in the hall. My keurig in my room was broken. What an extreme waste of $800.

The hotel reeked of marijuana. Valet was long wait and problems every time we needed car. Our car reeked of marijuana the first 3 days from valet. There was a domestic dispute close to our room and police had to be called. Will never stay there again.

Rates were way too high for what the hotel offered.. the rooftop bar was closed for majority of trip, did not open until after 6:00PM everyday. The bar downstairs was never open. Room was quiet, crew came to service room upon request but did not change sheets as requested. For a few dollars more I could have stayed at NOPSI and had more amenities available to me..
