Location was decent as well as the value. But room was not well maintained. Curtains were ripped so you couldn’t fully privatize and there were apartments across. Also a loose tile in the shower, which is a hazard. Parking at $51 a night is crazy. There is a convenient lot a block away for $25.

Although the hotel is well located, the rooms are very damp and dusty. The air conditioning ducts are visibly dirty, and dust mites are noticeable in the air. I suffered from respiratory allergies throughout my stay. It is important to clean the air conditioning ducts, remove the carpeting from the rooms, install laminate flooring, and install dehumidifiers in the bedrooms and bathrooms.

The Mercantile was the perfect place for us to stay. We only had a short visit as I was visiting a friend in Texas. We drove to New Orleans before I had to go back to Vancouver, Canada. We dropped our things off and went off to explore and take as much in (photos, palm trees, culture, music, wine, all the magnificent sights, warm and friendly people) before check out. This place was perfect. We wish we could have stayed longer. Next time I will. Thank you so much to the lovely and very helpful staff!!

Valet is hit or miss. First night there we waited 20 mins and then recieved text message that said unfortunately there was no valet to retrieve our vehicle. Staff easnt any help with this. So we ended up door dashing food. The restaurants around the hotel were either bars or $30-$50 per person. The beds are really hard but the pillows are fluffy, lumpy but fluffy. And if you get a room around the elevator its like a continuous thunder storm.
