To be fair , we stayed at a different Hampton ( Shelton ,CT) and we loved it during the summer. Breakfast was great, and that first experience was the motivation to return, at the New haven Hampton, the experience was good with the staff and all, but the breakfast was bad, sorry guys, I only had the breakfast the first day, then never went back after during my 4 nights stay with my family ,we ate out the whole time. Eggs was bad, not much much variety. Pool water was cold and the noise from the highway is loud at night, luckily we use white noise to sleep. Other than that Room ok, we stayed in a King suite, it is not a 2 spaces suite,like a separate space with sofa-bed plus the bedroom, there it is one room with everything, so not much privacy with the kids. Overall it was good, area is good too, food places in the area, steakhouse right next to the hotel, food and drinks were great there. Would i return to Hampton, yes, most probably the one in Shelton CT. New haven, yeah i could go back too ( my 2nd choice)

The room we get have a non working fridge, iron board was not good, cabinet door was not working, the front door could not close so we have to move to another room. And the second room fridge was not working so we have to swap fridge. Shower door was not closing, ligh over the sink was not working and the toilet handle was coming off.

Checkin was very nice, employee was pleasant and efficient and the welcome bag was a nice touch. However, many areas were unclean; the pool had a floating electric light" that made it impossible to use the pool for my grandkids. When brought to the attention of the gentleman at the front desk that night (didn't get his name, but he had a British accent} he basically shrugged and said "Someone must have done something they shouldn't have" with no explanation of when the pool would be available for use. The reason I booked the hotel was so grandkids would be able to use the indoor pool in the cold weather. Very disappointed. Breakfast was ok, but breads were stale and overall lack of variety.

Poor sound insulation- I could hear guests from other rooms till late night, in addition to the road noise outside the window. Older property. Have stayed in more updated Hampton Inn properties before. Had to ask for a blanket, tried to increase thermostat but didnt get much warmer. Good complimentary breakfast options.
