The staff at the Golden Tulip Parkhotel Neu-Ulm are really friendly and helpful and should be commended for this. I requested a non-smoking room, just to be put into a smoking room! They did change it for me. The passages in the hotel have a stale smoke smell, which is really not nice and quite disgusting. The wifi was not working and the reason given "it is because we are fully booked". You would think that in the day and age we live in, this should not be an excuse or an issue. The room did not have any (or at least very little in the, what used to be, mini bar) packing space. There is one drawer which is occupied by extra linen. There is ample hanging space. The breakfast is good with a nice variety.

Perfect location
Great hotel in a prime location by the river and only a few minutes walk into Ulm or Neu-Ulm. Unfortunately the bar is no longer open but it is possible to sit in the restaurant and take a drink which is a nice view and friendly staff.

Nice but could use a refresh
The staff was very friendly and the hotel was fine but it seems like it needs a refresh or an update. There was no air conditioning and the window in my room did not stay open on it's own. The rooms on the street side of the hotel face the theater marque which is lit until very late, making it hard to sleep.

Really disappointed with our stay. Have stayed at other Golden Tulip hotels and been very happy but this one falls well below expectations. We had to wait a long time at check in which can happen, however, the staff on duty did not acknowledge our presence. The welcome non existent. We asked for directions into town, asking if we could go via the park, were told the park was shut . It was impossible to get any directions. Room was clean but no air conditioning, also disturbed by constant drone sound outside. Parking at 10 euros seemed excessive. When we checked out we were not asked about our stay.

This is a great hotel if you are looking to stay close to the city for a reasonable price. The hotel is basic, however the staff is very helpful, and friendly. The hotel is very clean, has all the essentials you need. Very reasonable price as well.

The showerhead is too low for (I'm quite tall, but not freakishly tall) The minibar fridge in my room did not work, and rather than simply swap it out, I had to change rooms. Apparently the guy who is qualified to swap fridges does not work on Saturdays.

Good location but no aircon
The hotel is situated on the other side of the river from Ulm but is easily accessible via a bridge just along the river bank from the hotel, nice setting and in a quiet area. We arrived before the scheduled check-in time and our room wasn't ready but the staff were helpful and gave us a map and directions to see the town. The hotel advertises air conditioning for the better rooms but this turned out to be a large very noisy fan in the corner of the room

This is not a 4 star hotel.
Rude and lazy reception. No concierge to bring bag to room. The "restaurant" Edwin's is a lesson to all English guest that if you are not fluent in German you will not be served well or attended well. batteries in TV remote dead. no WiFi codes given at reception although you need them. plus side is the bar was well stocked with whiskey. business users should avoid and try Maritim instead. I wish I had.

Nice location, old hotel
The main issues were the linen, both of us in our travel group got constant rashes and itches from the bed linen. Everything else was okay. In my mind it's a 3 star not 4 star hotel.

Good But Room For Imrpvoement in Services
The main complaint was that there were no tea/coffee facilites in the room and it was not available in the hotel liunge. The bar only opened in the evening and the restaruant, that did serve coffee, was not in the most convenient of locations, although the outlook over the river was excellent. The FREE WiFi was very restrictive although a premium service was available at a cost. I resorted to my own wifi connection via mobile phone which was better. It was only an overnight stop en route from Munich to London so not a problem but I would not recommend for serious business travellor. The hotel is very convenient to tourist parts of Ulm.

A comfortable stay.
The staff here were very helpful and probably the hotels biggest plus. The hotel itself seemed tired but it's location was within walking distance of the old city. Overall it was a comfortable stay.
