Loved our stay here for 3 nights. Very friendly staff and all amenities are to notch. The variety of food choices and quality in buffet and the sit down restaurants were great. Rooms were very clean and they even had a mini-bar. Every night there were shows to keep you entertained at night. Cabs were easily available to get to Nassau from the rest. Will definitely stay here again when we come back to Bahamas.

I wanted so badly to love this place. This was my first trip to the Bahamas and we chose the RIU based on its reputation at other resorts. Let’s start with the positives: the beach surrounding the property is gorgeous. The pool area is nice and the staff is wonderful. But the inside of this place is extremely outdated. The rooms looked so old and have not been renovated in ages. Peeling ceilings and leak spots that had not been repaired. There was no shower door! So much for privacy and the bathroom was TIGHT and small. So tight that I could not open the bathroom door without hitting the toilet. Speaking of the toilet it was stopped up because something was going on with the plumbing. They were quite responsive in handling it but it was a hassle. In The first room we had the AC stopped working. Within 2 hours were placed in a new room and within 3 hours the AC stopped working in there. We were so over it we didn’t even report it because we were leaving the next morning. The food in the main cafeteria was alright but the restaurant options were not good. The hassle of having to book through the app and waiting was just NOT worth it. We opted to eat locally which was a great choice. We dined at Poop Deck ( good but expensive), Goldie’s (excellent) and Gourmet Seafood House (outstanding). Overall, highly dissatisfied with my stay here and will not be coming back. Property facilities are aveage, no ATMs or gift shops at facility. The entertainment is average too, they do have few games throughout the day and one dance show in the evening. It could have been a three star experience but we are so upset with the customer service provided during our stay that it can easily give one sta as well. Majority of the staff is rude to speak with, no smiles and had a couple incidents involving staff's rude behavior with our group for no reason. It did spoil a complete day for us. We go for an all inclusive trip every year in the Caribbean, this was our first time in Bahamas, the experience left a sour taste for us and we dont plan on returning back. Maybe will give Bahamas another chance but RIU never again.

There was no security. There was a drunk in the bar at night harassing the guests and attacking the staff. I ended up breaking my foot helping the bar staff hold him down cause no security showed up although everyone was calling for them. RIU corporate told me it was my fault because I willingly helped.

Hotel needs some remodeling/updating in some areas- but is kept very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful, food and drinks were great. Bar had very nice selection.

Was very disappointed when we first arrived to see that the resort was NOTHING like the pictures online. The resort was not maintained and we had to switch our rooms the first day due to mold in our room. The rooms only had a thin sheet and one pillow. When we woke up we were freezing and had to request a blanket that felt like sand paper. The food was barely palatable and the drinks were complete trash. The pool bar smelt like throw up and sewer everyday. Someone puked in the pool and instead of closing it just scooped puke out of the pool. We could barely enjoy the beach due to solicitors bugging us and not taking no for answer. The only restraunt that was good was the steak house and that's if you could even reserve. You can't make reservations until you're at the resort and most the time it was booked and they still had plenty of seating. Overall this resort was really bad and 10/10 would steer clear. Also if you go through majestic tours shuttles be ready to be car sick and waiting at the airport forever.
