We were booked in with a friendly young woman named Toni…and we noticed some tiny ants. Within an hour there were many. We told the desk person Deborah and she quickly had an upgraded room ready for us. The entire 4 days we were there the hotel staff were incredible, always attentive, holding the door open for us and always asking if we needed anything. Quite a remarkable reception.

The reason for the low rating is one major complaint: noise. Because we had a pet, we were relegated to the main level. However, the front desk phone was loud and rang constantly at all hours. You can hear voices of anyone entering the building passing by the front desk. The heater in the room was so loud that we could not sleep. We asked for a change of room after a couple of hrs of checking in and the next room was a bit farther down the hallway but the noise of the phone and heater was still very bad. The staff were very apologetic and they were very nice but our stay wasnt pleasant because of the noise. I would not recommend staying on the main level if you choose to stay here.

We loved the property for its cleanliness and the friendly and welcoming staff. The coffee machine in the lounge dispenses any style of coffee you might want. Having a kitchenette is a bonus. The bed was quite comfortable and we slept well. We will definitely stay here again next time we have business in Nanaimo, which is not too far away.

Friendly staff new rooms central location. Our room was facing the main road in town and was maybe a little noisy. Nice and new room.
