The positive's are the staff was friendly and it was very convenient to the New England craft fair, which is why we were there.
The negative is when we checked in on Friday evening we noticed a strong odor in our room, it was almost like a chemical smell. We did not think much of it and were heading to the fair anyway. When we came back we noticed the odor was still there but we were so tired we all called it a night.
My daughter and I went down for breakfast in the lobby the next morning. We both noticed we had headaches. We headed back up to the room and noticed the smell as soon as we opened the door. I decided to speak with someone at the front desk and see what our options were. Check out or see if we could change rooms. I was told we could not check out as reservation was made through Expedia- I understood. She did make the offer for us to switch rooms, which we agreed to. I did not get her name but she then came up to the 4th floor and told us we could move just right across the hall. We checked out the room and there was no odor in the other room. As she walked into our room she indicated to me that she could also smell what we were smelling and she was going to have maintenance check it out.
We did reach out to Expedia to see if we could have a complete comp for Friday night and were told that the Marriott had accommodated us already by moving our room. Not really happy with that. There should have either been a credit or complete comp.
