Best location - But thin walls

We were upgraded to an ocean view for free which was awesome! Both receptionists were friendly, and the housekeeping did a great job. Couldn't have asked for a better location in Cannery row. Everything was a quick 5-10 min walk away. The walls were very thin. Luckily we were on the fourth floor, but we could hear both sets of neighbors opening/closing the bathroom doors, turning on the shower, brushing teeth, talking, etc. We've lived in college apartments and dorms, and stayed in many many hotels and this was by far the worst noise disturbance I've experienced. The first morning they started doing room repairs on the third floor, and we had a very rude awakening to power tools at 8:30 AM. The room was also not quite as "nice" looking as in the pictures. Definitely a little more run down than we expected.

Location was excellent. Staff were friendly. Room was recently renovated and nice. I could hear footsteps above me. Less than 10 minute walk to the aquarium, down cannery row. I will go back.

We really liked the Wave Street Inn. Location was GREAT. Staff was friendly and nice. The only downside was the beds as the matress seemed old and worn down, if laying on the bed always felt like I was going to roll off.

Cute, clean, safe

We stayed at this hotel for our first night away as parents. We loved the location we were able to walk everywhere on cannery row and were able to drive off easily to other parts of town. Front desk was friendly and helpful, we were able to check in early which was nice. We were on the 4th floor and felt like we had the place to ourselves. I loved the security features on the elevator to get to and from. The room was clean and well kept. My only concern was the fridge didnt feel very cold and I dont think the windows were sitting right. The one in the bathroom I could see had a gap from the window to the frame and the ones in the room wiggled in the frame and there was a lot of condensation on the windows in the morning. Other than that i feel like i had a great experience and would come back again.

Nice Monterey hotel

Great hotel in fantastic spot in Monterey just steps from Cannery Row! Nice rooms, reasonably priced and super nice staff. I’m glad to see now that it’s changed from the Otter Inn (which we used to enjoy) it’s still a very nice place to stay, and the upgrades are a big improvement.
