Spacious, good quality hotel just outside Carmel. Ideal location for getting around Carmel, Monterey, Big Sur. Prompt service when required. Good facilities such as restaurant and pool. Next door to Barnyard development for other dining options and shopping. Recommended.

Old but beautiful
This Hotel is old but for the most part they have done some updating. Like the bathroom in my room the paint was peeling along the baseboard. The carpet needs badly updating. It’s like really loud Los Vegas Casino carpets. The service is great very friendly staff.

Housekeeping was not great. Never removed the garbage or replaced the toilet paper. Not enough towels for number of guests in room. Had to go to desk many times to ask for these things. Often still had to wait till the next day to get them. For the cost of the room I don’t understand why a roll of TP is an issue!

We visited 5 cities in Northern California and mentioned to registration desk we we were on our honeymoon. He put us in room 139. Couldn’t open curtain as the front end of cars were one foot outside our window. Room was tired. I think he actually chose the worse room available, as there were many nicer rooms with view of mountain, or pool, or simply with some privacy. Restaurant help were so very nice.

Great property and updated in 2021. Very stylish and good pool. Free parking. Wi-Fi is not fast or super reliable so I used my cell service. Air conditioning works great.

I really wavered between 3-4 stars. This inn seems to be trying but struggling to figure out its niche. Pros: location, near lots of restaurants, large rooms, grounds/public spaces, overall cleanliness Cons: thin sheets/bedding, lack of finishing touches in rooms, not overly friendly, knowledgeable or accommodating staff and charges with no benefits. I don’t mind paying an extra free for additional amenities, but when the restaurant is closed both nights of our stay and the weather is too cold to enjoy the pool then it bothers me that we would have to pay a destination fee. The only option we had to eat at the restaurant was breakfast and we don’t normally eat for breakfast. I did order coffee both mornings. The first morning, the young lady was nice and eager to make us a good americano but the next morning we got an older gentleman and when he brought my coffees I tried mine and it didn’t taste right. I clarified with him that he did make me an americano. He could see I was not enjoying my coffee at all and he just said, “yeah, it is” and turned around and walked away. Honestly, the best part about this inn is the great restaurants off property within a very short walk along with a great brewery. The Irish Pub: O’Callaghans was great.
