Large well equipped cabins that required a certain amount
of walking but worth it.
Enjoyed the feeling of tge place.
Somewhat over priced probably because of the limitrd options in the area
It was lovely and handy for our daily hikes. It was once having a kitchen and living room to chill out in after epic hikes

Very pricey with no Wifi. Can't view the ocean unless you drive there and pay $15 to park. Restaurants in Big Sur are overpriced.

Overall, our stay was ok. We live just down the highway in Morro Bay and frequently visit Big Sur. This was our first time staying at this facility. We had one big issue with our stay.
We had a reserved parking spot for our room. #46. We left for the evening and returned around 945 to find another car parked in our spot. There were no other area’s nearby to park and no one was in the office to assist. We ended up parking in the next spot over which had a sign and was clearly marked for disabled only. I left a note on our car hoping that I wouldn’t be ticketed, or worse yet, prevented a disabled person from accessing their room. It was on my mind all night and a bit of a disruption. I woke up early to check in with staff and make sure that I wasn’t ticketed. It turns out that room 47 next door had the disabled parking spot though I noticed they didn’t have a placard. I assume they ended up parking in my spot to avoid a ticket. I was never informed of this and was very disappointed to have to deal with the strsss around this after a pleasant evening. No alert was given about this possibly being an issue either. I’d appreciate a partial refund and at least a notification to future guests that may experience the same issue.
Thank you.
Colin
Such a unique stay. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here, completely off grid and relaxing. Great hiking trails, short drive to the beach. Felt like something from a movie, fabulous
The Big Sur Lodge is a beautiful and convenient site for touring parks and taking trails. The map and recommended to-do list at check-in are super helpful. Remember to check the status of Highway 1, as there is always some construction going on.
I really hate that I have to give this place such a low rating. Don’t get me wrong, the location is PERFECT; however, the staff are horrible all around the property. Especially the lobby and restaurant. They are all rude and tend to show it on their face. Prices for food, coffee, and con isn’t store items are WAY over price. The food isn’t good at all. I was told breakfast ended at 11 one day, so I came in at 1030 am but was refused a table. No one was even seated. The lodge is advertised as a hotel but does not have hotel amenities. I wish I was told to bring a cooler for food and drinks. I will definitely be going back to Big Sur, but I won’t stay here. The older gentleman that works the cafe in the morning comes off racist, and the young lady in the gift shop acts is of everyone is an annoyance. Asking questions or any advice from staff made me feel like a bother. Go to Big Sur but don’t stay here!
The King Suite was a nice large room, NO air conditioning but there are fans in the room. Convenient parking just outside cabins.
I did not like the narrow roads going up to the cabin
I booked our stay on Expedia….evidently I didn’t read the full description of the lodge…. No mention that it is located in a state park. Don’t get me wrong, the park is beautiful but it would have been good to know this…. I didn’t see this info till way into your description. It also would have been nice to know no internet. Again a beautiful park but a bit more detail would be helpful

When we checked in , they said that there was no tv and no wifi and When we went into the room it was at least 90 degrees in the room and no air conditioner. So we turned around and checked out . Worst place i have ever went to
