My stay at Decameron

I love the views at this hotel! The ocean view from the rooms and the amount of access to the beach that you have (Maybe the only reason I would return). The downside to this hotel, the room was dirty.. I didn’t even have any towel in the room when I checked in, I had to go down to receptionist to get towels because the phone in the room never worked and wasn’t even on. I was handed the towels as if I was begging and not a guest. Just cold reception. The bathroom, especially the tub was disgusting and moldy, my skin crawled whenever I would step in. The staff at the buffet would ignore you and have you waiting so long to get a drink. I usually would have to walk up to one and always ask for a drink before I got some attention. The staff weren’t very friendly except a couple of the guys. I only like this place for the views. In addition, the men working here will hit on you nonstop! It’s like from one to the other. No matter how uncomfortable you were, they wouldn’t quit. I just couldn’t understand why almost all of them did this. Made me so uncomfortable.

My adult daughter and I stayed for 4 days recently. I will not be booking another vacation stay there under any circumstances. Pros: - Ocean view room - Access to sister resort just steps away - Entertainment was great Cons: -It took over 45 minutes to check us in because of a broken printer they claimed -Meals were repetitious (fish breakfast lunch and dinner - Meal Choices were very limited ( We had to buy oxtail dinner from restaurants outside resort) I ate pastries alone for lunch on more than one occasion - The WATER in the sink faucet turned BROWN as I was rinsing out my mouth. Then SCALDING HOT WATER that was literally steaming came pouring out!!!!! ( I wish I could upload the video of the steam on this platform). I am going to upload it somewhere!!! I did alert the front desk but no one came to assess it - Pipes then started leaking from under the sink. I reported it to the housekeeper who was nearby. She stated she would notified maintenance, but nothing was done. We keep slipping on the water on the floor we tried to covered with towels. We left that next day thank goodness!!! - Towels were few and far in between. They took them and I had to hunt them down to get replacements daily -

This was my first time staying at this property and I absolutely love the convenience of everything being central and walking distance. The staff is amazing and they definitely go above to make your stay comfortable. Unfortunately the property is very dated and the amenities are minimal. The rooms are in dire need of some upgrades and a proper cleaning. I find myself having to clean even after housekeeping came by. I was barely on property so if you’re just looking for somewhere to lay your head and leave your stuff then it’s all good. If you’re looking for more then Decameron is not it.

If you enjoy a laid back vibe this is your place. Do not book if you prefer a 5 star resort because this isn’t it. I have zero complaints. The water was hot, food was good and drinks were strong. You will have access to two hotels. So you will have 3 pools and 3 beaches. The food is amazing, breakfast was my favorite. Take water shoes and sunscreen. Close walking distance to shops if you care to leave the report but everything is the same and you can get almost everything at the airport on your way home.

We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Decameron in Montego Bay! The beachfront location is fantastic, with beautiful views and easy access to the ocean. The food was great with a good variety, and the entertainment team kept the energy up with fun activities throughout the day and evening. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the resort had a lively, welcoming vibe. The grounds are well-maintained, and everything felt safe and secure. My only complaint was that our room wasn’t ready until nearly 5 p.m., which was frustrating after a long day of travel. It would have been great to get settled in a bit sooner. Aside from that hiccup, the rest of the experience was very enjoyable. I'd definitely consider staying again.
